I was disgusted with your hotel Towneplace in Seguin, Tx. I know that's a harsh word but it fits. We stayed there this past Friday and Sat April 29-30. Your signs posted on every door "This hotel has a smoke free policy" is a joke!!! You have an ash can at every entrance/exit & several on your patio. We were going out to enjoy your patio and everyone was smoking, including one of your employees. I complained to the desk clerk and she said the smoke free policy only pertained to the inside. I told her my special needs child was extremely allergic to smoke and that is why we stay at smoke free hotels and she was already ill due to we could not enter or exit the hotel b/c so many people were smoking at the entrances. I ask her why would people who smoke stay at nonsmoking hotels, she smugly told me, she was a smoker but she stayed at nonsmoking hotels b/c she wanted a fresh smelling hotel. I told her so did I, that’s why I book at nonsmoking hotels. She said they wash the sheets, real hateful. I told her, they don't wash the drapes, carpet or sofas. And the stale smoke is all over your luggage, clothes, hair and skin. She just said oh well and turned around and walked in the back. I was stunned. Then Sat. night we got in about 2am from our Relay for Life walk, was tired and needed towels, my child has several meds so we don't have maid service while we are out, so my daughter went to the desk for towels and she said she waited almost 10 min for the same clerk to come to the desk b/c she was out front smoking with other guest and employees. If we had not had to be gone all day Sat and into the night b/c of the breast cancer walk I would of checked out and went somewhere else. My child is extremely ill from our weekend stay there. I wish I give a NO STAR to this horrible hotel. There were so many people smoking (employees included) at the entrances you could not enter or exit w/o going through a could of smoke. DISGUSTING. And before all you smokers jump on a band wagon, I use to smoke before we adopted our special needs child, so I'm against smoking b/c it...
Read moreIn all honesty I really wish that I could’ve given this property more stars but I could not. First let me say that I am not hearing impaired, and I am not handicapped, yet I was originally placed in a hearing impaired room that reeked of onions, when I poked my head in. Then I read the sign on the door only to discover this was a hearing impaired room.
I went back to the front desk to complain. The front desk clerk then went on to tell me that there is a bigger room and it is for the handicapped, and I told her no to find a room somewhere that is not for the hearing impaired and that is not for the handicapped, leave those rooms available for those that require them, they are created functionally for their needs. I found it to be very insulting, only for her to find me a room at the end of the hall which my portfolio does say that I prefer and it was a normal room.
So my question is, why would you put me or offer me rooms that clearly I don’t need. We are always cautioned in parking lots never to park in the handicapped parking spaces because there is a fine, I think that should also apply to front desk agents who are trying to put folks in rooms that is not conducive to who they are especially that for the handicapped.
As an executive that works for a company that supports and creates vehicle features to help those who have any kind of impairment I found this to be insulting and highly disappointing. What happens if someone who is impaired needed one of those rooms and they were occupied by folks who did not have those challenges, then what?
That was my first time in Seguin and because of that situation that will be my last time in Seguin. I encourage everyone who reads this review let’s have more respect for the handicap and those who are impaired so that they can have what it is that was created just for them and their needs. To the Marriott staff I would say take the time to read your customers portfolios so that you can find them or place them in rooms that they clearly spell out in their portfolio as a preference, after all isn’t that what the...
Read moreThe hotel is decent. There weren't any bathroom amenities, but thankfully, I always bring my own. Most of the staff was great. However, there are those few... this place to me only 2 I didn't like to much. The kitchen staff , not sure what her name was, kept following me every time I went in to get whatever I wanted to eat ...if I pay to be there best believe if I'm hungry or my brother or mother we will eat as much as see fit. There is no.polocy stating we can only 1 cup of juice or 1 bowl of cereal...lady calm yourself. It doesn't come out of your paycheck. And this guy Raul. Just rude, no pleasantries what so ever and not very knowledgeable in simple things like searching up a Bonvoy #. We asked for a bonvoy number, and he gave us the reservation number. My mother, who works at a full service Marriott hotel in Houuston, had to explain how to look it up in GXP. We ended up getting locked out of the room, but Mr. Miguel, I believe his name is at the front desk, or maybe the manager (or should be)was so helpful, and Mr. Mike got our door opened and fixed in literally no time at all they were great. Those to gentlemen are why I gave 4 stars. Thank you guys very much. The room wasn't bad. I liked how the kitchen was set up but no utensils, but plates, cups, pots, pans all that. The big fridge bed was comfortable. All in all, it's not too bad of a stay, but it still could've been better. Housekeeping just left the cart in the middle of the hall all day and night, which was inconvenient to get the...
