I was looking for a cheap night stay that was comfy, clean and safe, and this was all of that. It's a 2-star place, so I'm reviewing with that in mind. The property has been remodeled a bit in that the floors are a faux-wood that is nice and the sinks are updated. Staff was great and quick at check in, no hassles. It's a motel type place where you park and all the doors open to the outside. At night, they really have it lit up very well, so that helps make things look great. They even have some grills out on one side of the hotel so that you could grill if you chose. It was raining so, none of that for me. ||||The bathroom had a nice small update that you see often now and I always like. Which is the shower curtain rod is one of those curved options to give more room in the shower. Pressure and temperature in the shower were perfect. Typical 2-star type toiletries that were actually great for me. I will say that the sink had some specks that looked like paint had sprayed onto the sink and never cleaned off. But otherwise was very clean overall. I must also say that the towels felt a bit better than average, which was nice. ||||Had a nice new flat screen tv (but without a HD feed, which I didn't care much about). The furniture was solid, but had a few dings here or there. ||||Also nice that there was a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. ||||Not many electrical outlets for charging stuff. That's pretty typical for most older properties. ||||The bed was very comfortable and I liked that they did have a variety of pillows to choose from. The property is right near the interstate so you get some white noise from the road, but later at night I couldn't hear that at all even. Room temperature control worked perfectly and was a pretty typical unit, but seemed in very good shape. ||||Breakfast was just cold items. Couple of types of cereal, some pastries and donuts. Not my type of stuff so I didn't eat. But it looked fine if that's what you want. ||||Overall, I would certainly stay there again when I'm in the area. You could pay a good bit more and not...
Read moreI'm not sure how or why the owners of this establishment have a Choice Hotels license. Credit Card machine didn't work, so I had to get money out of an ATM, which they conveniently had in their lobby (mmhmm). Next, had to fight to get a downstairs room as I was traveling with my pet. The chairs were ripped to shreds, there were cigarette burns on the blanket and the mirrors were badly damaged (I have pictures of all). The next morning I was awoken to very loud workers going back and forth on the sidewalks in front of the rooms. I got packed up and ready to leave and as I was going to my car, a Semi Truck was backing into the parking lot and stopped in a place where it was blocking my car. I asked an older woman (I'm assuming she was an owner) how long the semi was going to be there and she said, "They have to unload the entire truck. It will be there for awhile. Why? Do you have to leave?" Ummmm..........yeah. The owners and workers then proceeded to give me a hard time about getting out of the parking lot, as they really didn't want to help me out at all. The semi driver finally got in the cab of the truck and backed it up so I could get out. As he did, the owner stood at my car window yelling at my dog and I because we were "terrible people." Yeah.....not so much. Unfortunately in the chaos of trying to leave the hotel I forgot my dogs blanket. The hotel still hasn't contacted me about it and I'm...
Read moreThere was a t-storm this particular wknd which caused the "Direct TV" to go out so we had no TV for a while. The breakfast consisted of cereal, bananas and danish! By no means did I expect 5 star service considering what we paid but I did expect a little bit more at breakfast and we did expect to be able to watch TV. We were there for my husband's softball tournament and on Sunday (check out day) his team finished playing at 10:30am. This hotel is literally 5 mins from the fields so by the time we loaded up the truck and got back to the hotel it was 10:45am. We had not checked out because we knew that he would have time to shower before the 11am checkout. When we got back, the room had already been cleaned even though we "had not" checked out. We knew we would be pushed for time when we got back, so we loaded the luggage before we left that morning for the game, and I'm sure it appeared that we weren't coming back! However, technically it was still our room, so he showered! I was "EXTREMELY" disturbed to see the grape juice that I had accidentally spilled down the side of the sheet the night before "WAS STILL THERE" which let me know that the sheet "HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED" for the next guest!!! Our service was good and the room was decent for the price, not to mention location to the softball field was perfect BUT that dirty sheet ruined it for us!!! Will not be staying at this...
