I checked in at 4:00 p.m. after paying and getting my key he told me my room was not ready and could I please wait 15 minutes. I have been traveling all day alone with two small dogs. I am very tired. I went to the store. I came back in a half an hour and my room still was not ready. I unpacked my truck. The maid saw that I was here and she rolled her cart out. The manager said he would discount my room since it wasn't ready. But that has not occurred ,even worse, this room is disgusting. I accidentally kicked my dog's water bowl. Got a towel to wipe it up. The floors are vinyl. It was the most disgusting thing I'd ever seen. The floors are filthy. The bathroom is disgusting. For me to change rooms at that point was beyond what I could physically do. I'm in the disabled room and to think that that person thought this room was clean enough for a guest to be in is beyond anything I could have imagined. I am a retired Innkeeper. I ran a bed and breakfast for 15 years. I was the sole housekeeper cook and Gardener. If I couldn't go into one of my guest rooms and feel totally comfortable walking barefoot or laying my toothbrush on the counter I didn't want anyone else in there either. My place was immaculate and when I pay over $100 for a room I expect it to be clean and ready when I get there. I fully expect a complete refund and I will be happy to send pictures to corporate. This is the worst hotel room I have ever had to force myself to stay in. I am copying this and posting it on Yelp and any place else I can find. I would never want anyone to waste their time and feel as dirty as I do. Just laying here on what I hope are clean sheets. The room is that disgusting. And don't even get me started on what the grounds look like. There is trash blowing around, the parking lot is in disrepair, and the smell...
Read moreIt seems Baymont/Wyndham will slap its name onto anything now. When we reserved the room for $150, we expected a nice quality chain, large hotel (as we were looking for rooms while driving, we weren't able to look at photos). What we got was what was obviously an old motor lodge with the Wyndham name attached. The reception area smelled very bad. There was an empty case of beer in front of our door and tables outside of rooms covered with evidence of the previous night's parties with tons of alcohol bottles and cigarettes. The room itself (sleeping area) was actually pleasant and clean so we were relieved by that. Unfortunately, that was cancelled out by (1) the black mold growing in the grout in the shower and nasty bits of who knows what falling off the shower curtain, and (2) the literally paper thin walls- we could hear absolutely everything outside and in the rooms above and around us- including sneezing, walking, TVs. It was awful. We went in for continental breakfast, but left without eating because, still, the reception area had such a bad smell, it turned us off to food- it was super tiny anyway with just some cereal, palm sized waffles and apples- that was it. We will do our best in the future to...
Read moreWe have been staying at The Baymont Inn in Socorro for one or two nights every month for the last 7 months. It's where we stay when we come to visit our retired horses. Yes, the Baymont in Socorro is a work in progress. But the lovely family that owns the franchise is working hard to create steady, durable improvements in an organized way. Every month there is something new to appreciate. Meanwhile, from our first stay back in October through our 6 other visits including our most recent stay in mid-April, this motel-style lodging has kept Wyndham-standard clean rooms and nice quality sheets, pillows, and towels. These are important features to us and they are reliably consistent. Even if the Baymont hotels in other areas are larger and may feature more conveniences (such as a more substantial continental breakfast), for the cost of these well-kept rooms, we are quite content. This vintage-style motel suits our needs well. We've also come to respect and appreciate the owners who make every effort to...
