We've always enjoyed staying here even if it's a little pricey but at least you get a full hookup for $49 per night and showers are free. The staff is friendly and all seem to enjoy working there. There's a store and propane on site. They don't have a restaurant but they do have hotdogs and chili on Friday nights. One time they even had lariat lassoing lessons. They also have free, fresh-ground coffee from 7:00 AM to 20:00 AM. It's an easy walk just down the road to Columbia State Historic Park. We got our last reservation for July 3rd & 4th just two days in advance even though they were almost full; mostly because we have a 22' RV which fit one of the remaining two sites. It wasn't the best site because it was right by the entrance, sure and propane station but, beggars can't be choosers. On the other hand, it was right by the store and showers.

Hi Fellow RV'rs. This was our first trip to the park, I didn't do my home work before I went there. The web site is a little bite over glorified for what it is. The staff was wonderful and very helpful and John was GREAT. BUT. Pictures and Inf. of what is there dose not quite make since. Not a lot of room for parking and trying to put your rig in is a little challenging but there willing to help. And the list goes on, very very old school environment and worn down. Please read other peoples reviews before going there, make sure that's what your looking for. Also the road noise is terrible, but that's not there fault. Also a lot of very hard working early morning people going to work stay there. No water at the water wheel. Complained three times. Over all it was OK. Thanks Tony and Linda and puppy.

It’s been two years sense we’ve had our Rv here do to traveling and work. And we missed it a lot. Bob keeps things nice and neat (going to miss him) and the office staff keep the lines moving and the store stocked. Internet is faster then home and cable is crystal clear. If your in the area and want a great place to camp 49ners is the only place to be. It’s a walk with the Deers to ghost town Columbia and 30 minutes for Pinecrest. Sonora has everything you need. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹ thanks Sheri and bruise 😁😁 July 2020 we are back!! And not leaving! Got a site for our weekend visits and it’s perfect. Staff are always here to help and peace and quiet get away. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ‘

IThis place isn't what the website suggests. It's pretty rundown. It's not quaint " gold rush" worn, it's just run down. My husband daughter and myself stayed for 8 days. There was no water parkwide on first day. Three of the days there was no hot water at the showers. The wifi signal was very poor. However, the worst were the ANTS!! They were everywhere. Ants in the laundry room, bathrooms, showers and worst of all in OUR RV! As far as the people working there. Well let's just say the jury is still deliberating on that ruling. Was rushed to check out when I wanted to pay for another night. They told me it was already reserved. ( the owner told me the day before it was available for 4 more day). I understand that someone could have beat me to the punch, so we checked out. I drove by 9 hours later and the spots were still empty...hmmmm. We didn't break any rules, we weren't loud, and we didn't complain about anything. Did we miss something? Confused and dissapointed,. we REALLY DONT...

The staff is very helpful and friendly. The place is very clean including the bathrooms. It seemed very safe. It seemed like many of the people lived there full time. The people we met were very friendly and helpful. It was very quiet. The wifi was excellent and they had cable. We could stream movies without any problems. The location was very good for Columbia State historic park. Calaveras Big Trees is about 40 minute drive. |The downside was there wasn't much space between the campers. There was no room to put our awning out and sit outside. To connect our plumbing we had to go into the neighbor's site. There was no view of anything pretty. We drove to white pines (about 30 minutes away) to sit by a lake and eat our lunch on a couple of days. I think some of the other spaces were better but if you go make sure to ask about the physical space...
