IThis place isn't what the website suggests. It's pretty rundown. It's not quaint " gold rush" worn, it's just run down. My husband daughter and myself stayed for 8 days. There was no water parkwide on first day. Three of the days there was no hot water at the showers. The wifi signal was very poor. However, the worst were the ANTS!! They were everywhere. Ants in the laundry room, bathrooms, showers and worst of all in OUR RV! As far as the people working there. Well let's just say the jury is still deliberating on that ruling. Was rushed to check out when I wanted to pay for another night. They told me it was already reserved. ( the owner told me the day before it was available for 4 more day). I understand that someone could have beat me to the punch, so we checked out. I drove by 9 hours later and the spots were still empty...hmmmm. We didn't break any rules, we weren't loud, and we didn't complain about anything. Did we miss something? Confused and dissapointed,. we REALLY DONT...

The people we met were very friendly and helpful. It was very quiet. The wifi was excellent and they had cable. We could stream movies without any problems. The location was very good for Columbia State historic park. Calaveras Big Trees is about 40 minute drive. |The downside was there wasn't much space between the campers. There was no room to put our awning out and sit outside. To connect our plumbing we had to go into the neighbor's site. There was no view of anything pretty. We drove to white pines (about 30 minutes away) to sit by a lake and eat our lunch on a couple of days. I think some of the other spaces were better but if you go make sure to ask about the physical space...

The staff is friendly and all seem to enjoy working there. There's a store and propane on site. They don't have a restaurant but they do have hotdogs and chili on Friday nights. One time they even had lariat lassoing lessons. They also have free, fresh-ground coffee from 7:00 AM to 20:00 AM. It's an easy walk just down the road to Columbia State Historic Park. We got our last reservation for July 3rd & 4th just two days in advance even though they were almost full; mostly because we have a 22' RV which fit one of the remaining two sites. It wasn't the best site because it was right by the entrance, sure and propane station but, beggars can't be choosers. On the other hand, it was right by the store...
