We had Christopher to be our wedding rehearsal dinner chef and after one year we are back to celebrate our anniversary at the restaurant. It is perfect like my previous experience! We love that anything you order are consistently made with the freshest ingredients and the waitress is so welcoming as usual. We were recommended by the local wedding venues ( union hill inn ) and we immediately falling in love with the restaurant after our first dining experience here. Our wedding rehearsal dinner was definitely lovely and memorable for us and the families. We all had a perfect meal that is feeling healthy and absolutely delicious. One best thing I wanted to address is the food are really not greasy at all, which is really a pleasant surprised because the photos I saw on Yelp and Google seems a lot more creamy than the actual taste for the food. The salmon with almond risotto is a must have, and the crab cake is a solid dish. The atmosphere of the restaurant is romantic dim light and it can be family friendly as well. They have a large room for the rehearsal dinner at the very back. We had about 18 guests that night and we had an awesome intimate time together. Our families had many other dishes and every one enjoys it so much that definitely gave them a beautiful impression about Columbia and the restaurant. We will definitely be back and visit the restaurant again :-)

Great spot. We ate from their lunch menu. My wife had the baby spinach apple salad, which she really enjoyed. My MIL had the same and the squash soup she loved the flavor. It tasted like pumpkin pie in soup form. My FIL had the bacon cheddar burger, and he said it was excellent. I went with the short ribs sloppy Joe. It was different but good. I would definitely order it again. We all shared the mozzarella skewers as an appetizer, which were so good, probably the best cheese sticks we ever had. We also had drinks at the bar. The bartender was kind enough to make us a custom drink, which was tasty and effective. The staff was very friendly. Our waitresses' name was Alana she was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of. I highly recommend anyone to try their restaurant.

This hotel was so much fun to stay in. You must reserve through California's state parks website, so many people may not realize you can stay in the hotel. We saw a play at the Fallon Hotel theater, down the block which is the other old hotel run by the state parks system. It was really fantastic and my son really enjoyed the history. Food was good, a little pricey, but not compared to the other restaurants in the little town. Colombia has so much to offer and surrounded by so much beauty. I would definitely recommend driving through.

We spent two nights but basically just one day (we arrived late the first night...after an awesome ride through the Lake Tahoe area from Carson City to here).||It was rainy, misty and just not great weather but I think it may have even added to the charm of this historical "ghost" town. We could have easily spent another day there but had an agenda so we had to move on. We were fortunate enough to have many of the shop keepers to ourselves (rainy November week day) so we not only got the charm of this little town, we got the personal attention from some of the folks who have lived here all their lives. I cannot say enough about the history that drips from the trees, buildings and boulders surrounding this little gem. If you have any value in our country's history this is a must see town. ||Now as for the "ghost town" and "hauntings"....I don't believe in ghost but this is a true story that I must tell....Our balcony room at the City Motel had no private shower so we had to walk down the hall from our room to take a shower. No big deal as we were the only ones staying there the first night. Since we are from the east coast, we're still on ES time so--up by 6am (West Coast time)....my companion left the room to take a shower, I go into the common area to fix a cup of tea and our bedroom door closes behind me. I'm in pjs, both of our phones are in the bedroom as is the key to the room. No one else in the building!!!! So I decide to go out on the balcony of the common area..thinking I'd climb the rail to our room and try to open one of the two balcony doors of our room. The doors have locks on the bottom and a pull down lock at the top. I unlock the bottom but cannot reach the top. My companion comes out of the shower, I explain to him what I have done and what I want to try to do and he tells me it's no use as he knows he locked both of our balcony doors last night. Just as he is saying that, one of the two doors I had just tried to unlock blew open....again he tells me it won't matter as I won't be able to open those doors in our room. I decide to try anyway. I gently push on each of the four doors (each door is a double door). As I push on the last door, it opens....now here's the scary part.. each of those doors that opened were the inside door of the two part door (in other words, they should not have been able to open without the other door moving first). This building building is very solid so it wasn't like there wasn't a tight fit, those doors don't budge unless they are unlatched. No, I don't believe in ghosts but I do believe in energy and there is definitely some spiritual energy in that...

NEVER AGAIN! Wednesday night, two of my close friends and I decided to go out to eat at the city restaurant. We were so excited ,our server introduced herself as Bonnie and from that moment on it was a true nightmare! This Woman was clearly intoxicated. We knew this first because she ricked of booze And secondly, slurring of her words And thirdly because she couldn’t remember a damn thing. She took our order, then came back 15 minutes later introduced herself and tried to take our order again. We literally had to remind her that she already had. When it came time for our food to be delivered, she almost dropped a plate but luckily caught it unfortunately she knocked over a drink that went straight into my lap. You would think that she would run and grab a towel but nope, Thankfully, the other server did right away. We Sat there for 10 minutes and decided to get our food boxed up, we waited we waited and we waited some more. Our server was nowhere to be found We literally waited 45 minutes !!!! finally She reappeared at which point it was very clear that she had no idea how long she had been gone for . We then got asked do you guys want boxes? We had boxes already they were right in-front of her!I said no just bring me the check. Since i Have worked in food service myself I had never seen anything this bad and this was the first time I decided not to leave a tip. This grown woman was so drunk and extremely unprofessional.I left there irritated, Disappointed and fatigued. I asked the Other server, if I can talk to the manager and quickly found out that there was no manager on site. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a server. she had the worst attitude after receiving the checkbook and seeing that there was no tip left. She was rude, Incompetent and Should not be serving the public! We will never go back and sadly I don’t think this was just a bad night because on our way out we saw her sitting at the bar taking Shots, talking loudly about us and how much she hates working there. It was a bad experience for us. We really just wanted to have a nice...
