I spent 6 nights at this 'hotel' as there was some work being done on my home and this hotel is pretty close to where I live. I knew I was in trouble the first night when the lady working the front desk asked me how many hours I would need the room. I explained to her that I had a reservation. She could not find the reservation but - no worries - they had a room available for me. After checking in, she gave me keys to two different rooms so that I could choose which room I wanted. I chose the first room because the second one was all the way down on the end of the first floor, across from the ice/vending machines. No way! Once I got settled into the room I began to notice some things. The room was very small. There was no refrigerator, no microwave, no closet, no complimentary coffee pot and no iron. There was a board with two hooks to hang up your clothes - and one lone hanger on it. Think coat rack. I had just driven in from NC where I had been visiting my parents and I was exhausted so I didn't want to leave. I really had no where else to go. I unpacked my clothes into the drawer and went into the bathroom. At first, I couldn't find the door to the bathroom. It is one of those sliding doors so you have to pull it closed if you want privacy. The wall papering in the room was peeling. There were stains on the dresser. You could see where some plastering had been done in the shower area. The cabinet in the bathroom was peeling. I was in shock. Really, I was. I jumped in the shower and afterward, as I unfolded the towel to dry off, I spotted pubic hairs in the towel. YUCK!!! I was so grossed out, I almost dry heaved! I let myself air dry then wrote out a list of what I would need to survive this trip. I went to Walmart and bought a flat sheet, a pillow, a fluffy throw blanket, towels and some new pajamas. I knew everything was going in the garbage after I left. The bed was pretty comfortable but the comforter had holes. So I just removed the comforter and pillows from the bed and used what I bought. The TV remote had a volume up and volume down arrow, a channel up and channel down button and that's it. I was able to get HBO the first two nights I was there but then that channel mysteriously changed to Headline News. I watched TBN (Trinity Broadcast Network) for the majority of the time that I was there. I needed all the inspiration I could get. Oh yeah - there was a porn channel, too. It was pretty quiet except for the occasional traffic from Route 1. Other than the shady looking characters that were in and out by the hour(s), I could work in relative quiet. The wireless connection was great. I could not wait to leave, however. I struggled with this rating. I really like to give Hotels the benefit of the doubt but this place was a mess. I didn't want to touch anything with my bare hands, that's how dirty I felt while there. The only reason I don't give this a 'terrible' rating is because the staff (other than the lady working overnight on weekends) was very pleasant and friendly. I will not...
Read moreI have to say I had a very bad experience on 01/12/16. I checked out very early on jan 12th because I stayed at the hotel for three days. I had to go to work that morning in my way out I went out to put one of my bag in my car, it was heavy so I rest the bag on the ground next ti my car. Then went to the desk to asked the attendant who was an older lady perhaps polish or Spanish for a receipt for my stay. She became very annoyed and told me that she is not able to print out the copy at the time. I then told her I will come back after work so I left. I forget to place my bag in the car which I left next to the car.I didn't remember the bag until I returned from work that evening.I realize I had forgotten to put the bag in my car that morning. I have all my personal information in that bag. I went to the hotel to find out whether the attendant or someone had seen the bag and turned it in. To my dismay the gentleman who was there at the time was not very pleasant. I asked if there is a camera outside the building and he told me no there,s only camera inside the building. I am so disappointed and hurt for someone to take a bag with so much personal information that do not belong to them is a shame and the hotel personal were so cold, their behavior makes me believe that it is someone works there is responsible for taking my bag. I have other things such as an iron hairdryer, lotion hair products, a couple jeans , two belts and my nursing uniform in the bag. I can replace these items, but my personal papers I really want they are very important. I filed a pilice report hopefully whoever took the bag if they have a conscience will only do what right but to return it to the police station.I will never go there again there is no safety and the people are not...
Read moreI stayed at La Mirage, South Brunswick, over the weekend for two nights (Mar. 15 and 16, 2014). The first night was fine, but when I returned to the apartment around 12.00am the second night, I could hear loud music coming from one of the other rooms. ||||I asked for a change of room. The night manager went up to my room on the third floor. Despite the loud music, she said she didn't hear anything. ||||Then she unlocked the two neighboring rooms to make sure there was no one there. She also said the nearest occupied room was down the hall, so the music couldn't be coming from there. I said the music could be coming from the second floor. ||||She said there was nothing she could do because then she would have to clean two rooms. ||||I said "but it's very loud in there." She said "no sir, it is not," and then she walked into the elevator and left. ||||I went outside and called the police right away. You could hear the music in the parking lot. ||||So a police officer arrived almost immediately. I was hoping he would go into the room and confirm that I wasn't imagining the music, but as the motel is private property, he said couldn't go inside. All he could do was write up an incident report. I took a shower, packed, checked out at 3am, and slept in my car rather than put up with the music. ||||I don't know if the night manager is deaf, but what reason would anyone have to ask for a room change, unless something was wrong...
