Hey there, I have a situation that wasn't taken care of properly or professionally by one of your franchise super 8 motels. It was the super 8 in Dixon IL. 2 friends and I traveled from different states for a 4 night stay. I was using one of the 2 beds in room 120 for a nap after showing up early Saturday morning on March 5th. After resting a few hours I woke up with huge swelling on my face and arms and clear bites. All 3 of us looked in the mattress and found evidence of bed bugs. after getting hydrocortisone cream and benadryl we came back and clearly saw a bedbug right on the sheets!!! We caught it and sealed it in a little bag and took it to the manager. They then took close to 2 hours to even respond to us or give us another room. We presented them the bugs and showed my visible bites but the manager insisted they didn't come from the hotel, she blamed us !! I am highly allergic to bed bug bites. I will attach photos of my face swelling. Seeing on Google reviews a guest posted 1 month ago they had an experience with bed bugs and had bites. The manager responded to the comment on the Google review. But when I asked her if they had ever had any other guests complain about bugs she directly told me no 2 times. Bed bugs can infest an entire building if there's even 1 room with bugs. She refused a refund, didn't offer any new luggage, dryer use to clean our clothes, reimbursement for the medication, or even an apology. We were all blamed for the event. Later that evening everyone was frustrated with the outrageous management. Knowing a place has bedbugs and not taking care of it is a health and safety concern and the health department needs to be notified if the owners can't take it seriously. I left a review so the public can know about the issue. Its not right at all to let anybody bring those bugs home. Then the manager called and speke to kyanas husband in their room and threatened to not even give a discount if we didnt take the review down. This is disgusting. The room was booked under the name kyana Adkins, for March 3rd 4th 5th and check out...
Read moreThis is really 1.5 stars. For $60 you aren’t going to the Waldorf. I generally like the super8 chain. I’ve stayed in Illinois Iowa Florida Indiana. this is definitely not the best super 8 I’ve visited. I almost never give negative reviews, so I’ll start with the fact that that the Indian woman who checked me in smiled and seemed pretty nice. Also breakfast was available early at 6. Nothing to write home about frozen waffles, cereal, instant oatmeal. The “breakfast area” was nothing like sunny pictures. (Google should remove those pictures false advertising) Be prepared to stand and eat your breakfast in the lobby, literally right next to the entrance. Yes, the lobby does smell like Indian food but I would have gone for the homemade over the lonely Pizza Hut. We were really hoping for a sit down Cracker Barrel or Texas Roadhouse. Nada. There is a Walmart with a Sbarro close by and we ended up buying groceries and using the in room microwave. Posted the pictures of bathroom. This was the bathroom on arrival. (See pics) I understand dated furniture and fixtures but this is disgusting. Im pretty sure some Descaler and a good toothbrush and elbow grease would fix this problem. Baring that, replacing a shower head is like 25 bucks? I’m tired and gross but couldnt bring myself to use this shower. And I’ve camped with Boy Scouts. We were in the “nonsmoking” section of the place but I could smell cigarette smoke coming from at least 2-3 rooms. Walls are paper thin. So be prepared to wake up hearing every door slam.- they will because the doors are heavy and slam behind you unless you consciously close the door softly. The sheets/towels seemed clean...But if you have sensitive skin whatever bleach or chemical they use in the sheet made me itchy. (Extra rinse cycle?) I am part of a family business and I’m glad to support that. However I hope someone reads my feedback and tries to make improvements on the guest experience. Even with the incentive of Wyndham rewards, I’m not sure I would brave this...

But this location was by far the *Worst... The beds looked thrown together. Towels & washcloths rough & threadbare. In order to get extra towels you have to bring used ones to the office. Why? no one will want to take these. $50 deposit automatically charged up front, again why? However, it was returned promptly after my 4 day stay. When you enter this hotel you find a 10x10 space, office counter & includes 2 tables with chairs for breakfast. During my stay I saw 1 coffee canister with about a half dozen packaged danish each morning. Never ..saw anyone eating there. And to the (best) :( part of this stay I woke up 2nd morning finding 2 "bites" on my neck. Since I had done some walking in a wooded area I thought they had come from that. However....by the time I got home I had several (9)bites. The only thing I could think of was bedbugs or some sort of bug. I was sick about it. Please *note after a career in insurance claims, I always check (Every) hotel room for bedbugs under the mattress and wipe down surfaces & especially TV remote. Thankfully, after arriving home I had contained my luggage to one room & hadn't unpacked right away. I did not want to take any chances & called Orkin, who came to my home the same day. They told me to steam clean non washable items i.e. luggage, toiletry bag etc.& everything else wash in hottest water. This was a lot of work & depressing. My fingers are crossed that I have taken care of...
