RUN! This has to be the worst hotel I have stayed in (for 15 minutes). To start when you pull up the sign looks like it needs to be replaced and has paint pealing off it, the paint is peeling off the entrance, and you definitely want to park in the most-light area.
When we went in the fountain was ripped out and had what looked like caution tape over it. The check in process took forever. Why?
Then we were given our key on the 4th floor and told the elevator didn't work (note that other reviews on other sites state this was an issue years ago). On the way to the elevator we could see that the side door was not secured. On the way up to the 4th floor we passed by the 3rd floor, which was under construction for renovation and accessible. That is a serious security issue. What's to keep someone from coming off the street and hanging out there? Nice time carrying all out luggage up 4 flight of stairs. What if I couldn't climb the stairs and rented a room?
Then we got to the 4th floor to be met by a strong smell of smoke, stains on the carpet, and missing tiles from the ceiling. Really?
To top it off, the key didn't work. I has to trek up and down the stairs three times as the key didn't work each time the desk tried to give me a new scan. It looks like a battery operated key, so they could have probably easily fixed it. Then after all that they let us know that the card readers on the 4th floor have issues. Then why not fix them?!? Do you want to rent a room out?
Then we had to trek all the way back down with our luggage to be given a new room on the first floor. What a complete disaster of a room! The key worked (Thank God). Upon opening the door we were again hit by a wave of a strong smell of smoke. I had a migraine (I am not one to get headaches) for hours after we escaped. The decor looked like they opened it in 1982 and didn't maintenance or change (and only occasionally cleaned) anything. The outlet to the cable tv and phone were ripped out of the wall. The furniture was vintage 1982 with clear heavy use. The nightstand had large parts of the veneer ripped off. Then we pulled back the sheets to see yellow stains. The toilet had urine in it still (seriously! Either the cleaning lady urinated in it and left it AFTER it was cleaned or she never cleaned it at all!).
Let's not forget the wifi only worked in the lobby.
Another person on our team found a diaper in their bed. Yes, a diaper! I forgot to ask if it was used
We had enough. Our team got a cheap block of rooms, but this place crosses the line. We went straight to the desk, dropped off our cards and left. We immediately got on the Internet and for a place for a little more and enjoyed smoke free and non-pre-used toilets. Some others on the team left a day early and drove back and forth to the games for over an hour one way to avoid this place.
I really question and review online that says anything good about this place. There is no way a real reviewer would say anything...

Safety-wise - few lights in the parking lot work, making it feel very unsafe. They do not lock the back door, so anyone could walk in. The side door does not work properly, and is one of the dark areas of the parking lot. There is not another quick way in so you have to walk around.
Cleanliness - there are small reddish smears on the bathroom tile. It's been there for two days, at least, because that's how long I've been here. It looks like dried blood, but I don't want to touch it. Point is, I should not have to.
More importantly and negligently, they did not change the bag in the trash can between the past guest and me. I came out of the bathroom to find my dog crunching on something that turned out to be a chicken bone. I went to the front desk to explain what happened. They apologized for the "inconvenience" and offered to refund the $10 per night pet fee and send the housekeeping manager to change the bag immediately. I explained the damage was already done and I'd let them know if there were any vet bills from an injury caused by him ingesting chicken bones. They assured me it would not happen again.
We left for the day and came back to find that the bone was missing from the trash, which I moved to on top of the desk, but the dog hair that was under the bone was STILL THERE! They were told of the negligence, and then repeated the negligence. The second manager I spoke with apologized again for the "inconvenience" and offered to have the housekeeping manager come and change the bag. I declined, and left the can at the front desk. When the manager brought it back he said they'd washed it, "just to be safe* and confirmed the pet fee had been refunded and the Choice membership had been credited 5,000 points. I stated again I'd let them know if there were vet fees.
Lastly on the safety/cleanliness issues, there doesn't appear to be a designated pet area, and the small grassed area next to the pool is so full of dog poop I cannot in good conscience let my elderly dog use that area.
Breakfast was mediocre at best. The less expensive Choice hotels used on this trip have had much better breakfasts.
I will not be back to this hotel.
Update: I was able to, with a single wipe with a Clorox wipe, clean off one of the blood-looking smears on the bathroom floor. I called the front desk and asked that housekeeping please mop the bathroom floor as that also had obviously not been done before we checked in. He said he'd...
Read moreHorrible experience with this hotel! I had my wedding at the Concord Exchange down the street and blocked out rooms at this hotel for my guests. Every guest had trouble booking they're room. It took them about 10 mins on the phone to book it because the hotel had trouble finding the rooms blocked in my name. My guests were put all over the hotel which could be my fault but my assumption was that since I blocked rooms out we would all be at least on the same floor. The hotel rooms were very run down and when I blocked out the rooms I had asked for they're suite which online showed came with a jacuzzi. I ended up in just a bigger room then the rest of my guests. The worst part of the whole thing was that the event coordinator was very unprofessional. This hotel changed they're name from the clarion to envision about 2 months before my wedding I made a phone call to make sure all the reservations were all set. The event coordinator assured me that everything was set everything in our contract and it was still the same. I asked about the Shuttle bus they had said they would provide and what I need to do to set it up. She said that I just needed to call right before my wedding and set up what times I needed the bus at. I called a week before my wedding and was not able to get a hold of her called the day before the wedding again to try and set times, the receptionist said the coordinator was out and she will email her with my issue and have her call me. I did not recieve a call back from the event coordinator instead from the receptionist saying that they could not provide a bus on such short notice and with such short staffing. This is not acceptable since my contract clearly states that a shuttle bus is included with my booked rooms. (Shuttle Service: Shuttle to and from the Concord Exchange is included in this agreement. Should the room block fill, the shuttle is complimentary. Should it not fill, there will be a $100 fee assed for the service. ) the receptionist said she would email her again and see if the coordinator could give me a call back. I never ecieved any phone call back and my guests all needed to find rides to the hotel themselves. I received no emails or phone calls ahead of time stating that this would not be possible. Very unprofessional in my opinion and highly recommend another hotel to anyone that is...
