This was a very disappointing stay for us.
We use Marriott as oftern as we can and this is a poor example of any hotel. It is not up to Marriott standards by any means. It is more likened to Motel six. Our goal is to get Marriott to read this review and inspect this hotel.
Let me explain.
In the bathroom there was about a quarter size spot in the corner of the shower where black mold is growing. Room smelled very musty. Room was very poorly furnished. Bed was so uncomftable, it is a spring bed and felt like just a box spring used as the bottom layer of a bed. Pillows are lumpy and felt old.
Soap used was typical of a low budget hotel chain. It left you dry and desiring to run to a store and get something else rush back and take another shower. Come on, this place has to be investigated. Some one has to notice how bad it is. The fact they have the Marriott name is supposed to lend credance to being a place of quality and comfort. It seems like they just paid for the Marriott name to make money with false represetation.
We asked the desk to give me a wake up call at 10:10am, at 9 am I get some one banging at my door, saying Room service. I would imagine there should be a manager who over sees this place. I would have thought a decent manager would say ok here is rooms you can do and check with me later to do the ones not cleared to clean yet. as we dont want to disturb the customer until check out time. Then add that the maid service was loud in their efforts. Who could get back to sleep!
We told the front desk when we first got to our room that the ice machine in the hall was having issues, there is a constant water running out the drain. I am stating it was more than a drip and if I was the owner I would be upset at the amount fo water flowing out the drain. We left the hotel and returned 7 hours later and the water was still flowing. We called the front desk and let them know the water was still flowing. The reply was ok I will let the engineer know.
The fact they said Engineer I take offense to that as it took me 5 years to get my degree as a Engineer and the position they are refering to is a Maintenace person. They figured using fancy words the average customer would not know otherwise. It is ethically against the code of ethics as a engineer to be called a engineer if you dont have the credentials to back up your position. To me this is disrespectful to those of us who put in the time and money to get our degree's. Then to top it off when we checked out the next day 20 hours from signing in, the water was still flowing. Made me thing they just dont care. How hard is it to turn off a vater valve. If I was an owner of this hotel I would be very upset hearing water is flowing for so long it is literally money flowing out the drain.
In a nut shell this place sucks. Only good thing is it located in Sparks. There is so much potential, I imagine management is holding back spending money to keep things up for incentive and personal profit at the expense of letting the overall condition suffer, in the end the...
Read moreIf you are looking for a good night's rest consider other options. I travel extensively for work and I am a platinum member with Marriott.
While on vacation with my family we were traveling through Reno and I booked a room at the Fairfield Inn using my points. We arrived around 11:00pm after a 12 hour day of driving and were looking for a good night's rest, we did not get one. After turning the fan off in the bathroom a repetitive banging sound continued coming from the fan. I called the front desk and requested we be moved to another room. The associate working the front desk, who was understanding, stated that even if they moved us to other room we would have the same issue. This was frustrating to hear. We stayed in the same room and chose to run the fan all night as it was less distracting than the banging noise. We did not sleep well.
The next morning I approached the MOD and she appologized and offered to refund my points. I said that would not be necessary, but recommended they fix this problem as soon as possible. The thing that surprised me the most was that they said they have been working for over a year to resolve this problem. Wow, an entire year. Marriott is a large and resourceful organization and should not struggle to correct a customer focused issue such as this. Until they get this figured out, I would recommend another Marriott property if you plan to...
Read moreStayed at Fairfield Inn & Suites while visiting my son at UNR. The check in process was super-fast and efficient; heads up, there is a $5.00 fee for parking on site. I should have parked on the street to save the $5.00. The hotel has a nice layout with an indoor pool, gym, lobby and dining area. The gym looked good, but wished that there was more space for using the weights. |Our room was spacious, furniture was in great condition and no stains on the rug. Pillows could have been fluffier and the bed was perfect for us! There were two televisions in our suite, pretty cool, but probably not needed. Plenty of USB plug ins to charge your device on your nightstand. Coffee Maker, microwave and refrigerator were present in the room; unfortunately, didnât get a chance to use them for our short stay.|The included breakfast was very good. They had your typical hot foods like eggs and sausages. Breads, pastry, yogurt, cold cereal, etc. There was one major issue; the A/C system is super loud! It works great and gets the room cold fast, but WOW, I couldnât hear the TV or have a conversation while the...
