most of the receptionist at the front desk are rude, they mase checking in for us a nightmare you'd think you were trying to get into fort Knox, Stayed here for almost two weeks spent a lot, and have been treated like we are an inconvenience, but still remained friendly with everyone, kept the room clean, noise levels down, had not a single visitor, and tried to extend our stay and was refused without being given any reason as to why, was woken up at 4am the other morning to the front desk pounding on our door saying that we called her up here and she knows it was us because we were the only white people on the 3rd floor and then she stormed off without an apology or anything. We found mice and most likely rat droppings on the floor and drawers of our room, the wifi and tv were out for over 2 days, and cleaning staff is pretty un friendly and real pushy to clean your room and not replace anything or empty your trash. Still have the same sheets from day 1. The breakfast if you can even get any before its gone consists of bread bagels a waffle making station and corn flakes the juice machine has been out of order for two weeks and they put out one small pitcher of milk for the whole hotel, and are rude about refilling anything and if you get down there after about 730 there will probably be nothing left. Location is inconvenient your options for walking distance are shell gas station and family Dollar and white Castle all about a mile walk round trip. This place has made us feel mistreated and I regret the $1500+ spent here and based on all the pissed off people constantly asking and calling about their deposit, and the raging cheap ownership I wouldnt expect to get the deposit back without a fight. I watched the owner chase down a group of four people leaving to tell them their room was missing a hand towel.

I’m a globally well traveled US Marine since boot camp at MCRD San Diego..1985…( complements of the United States Marine Corps ). I’ve had the privilege of staying globally in some luxury …some mid grade …and some real dives. This Days Inn located at 2810 North 9th Street, St. Louis, Mo…is in what is perceived as a rough part of town …with what seems as consistent bad reviews on various subjects pertaining to the motel. I didn’t see or experience any issues at all during my single overnight stay. The reason this hotel charges $100 deposit on the room is the area it’s in and the perceived client base. I was warmly greeted by both the security guard and the very professional and pleasant lady behind the counter window. I was not in my uniform this evening when I checked in… ( Levi blue jeans…Belleville 550 ST USMC issued boots and my favorite In-N-Out Burger T-Shirt ). They had no idea I carried 3 silver stars on my USMC uniforms lapel…until the following morning when I checked out of the hotel. I was treated with absolute respect while dining on the continental style breakfast they serve. I love it when I get to visit St.Louis and the Arch, plus the tasty BBQ shops all around here. On a global level…when you hold yourself with a certain demeanor and personal presence …fellow human beings treat you kindly and with respect. So in my opinion… the negative reviews at this Days Inn are frankly bullshit. Lieutenant General Bryan Maxwell. USMC ( Now finally Retired )..🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Our stay at this Days Inn was an absolute nightmare. First of all, a $100 'security deposit' was charged above the expected fare without any prior notice. This was due to 'active construction' taking place at the hotel. There was obvious physical repairs occurring at the building; the vending machine area had exposed 2x4s, doorknobs were missing off stairwell doors, the business room was filled with lumber and supplies preventing access, the workout room was locked and filled with lumber and supplies. When requesting extra pillows for our room, the host/owner initially refused before going to an unused room to remove pillows for our use. The elevator run slowly and shook randomly, not providing any sense of safety. Our room was missing artwork and the extra lounge chair. The bathroom countertop was falling apart, the front panel had come unglued from the counter. There was mold on the trays for the ice cube bucket and soap trays. When we checked out, they insisted they immediately issued the refund for the $100 to our bank, but said it would take 3-5 days. After 8 days, I contacted my bank and they had not received any information regarding it. I contacted the hotel again and they insisted they already sent the refund. Surprisingly, the refund appeared in my bank account later that afternoon. All in all, this was a horrendous experience and we will never be staying at this hotel again.

After seeing the delepidated area of the hotel, I knew I should have canceled and requested a refund. I checked into the HOTEL AND ADVISED THE RECEPTIONIST AN INDIAN WOMAN THAT I DIDNT WANT TO STAY TWO NIGHTS. SHE TRIED TO ASSURE ME THAT THE HOTEL WAS SAFE AND THAT IT WAS IN AN INDUSTRIAL AREA AS TO REASON IT MAY FEEL UNSAFE. SHE ASSURED ME THAT THEY HAVE SECURITY AT NIGHT. I WALKED THE FIRST FLOOR BEFORE HEADING UPSTAIRS I SAW THE OLDER INDIAN WOMAN CLEANING A SWIFFER MOP IN A SINK OF ANOTHER ROOM.

I ARRIVED TO MY ROOM THERE WERE STAINS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SHEET. THERE WERE UNEATEN CHIPS UNDER THE BED. THE ROOM WAS MUGGY AND SMELLED UNCLEAN. I WENT TO PURCHASE MY OWN TOWELS AND ADDITIONAL CLEANING SUPPLIES TO CLEAN THE ROOM.

AFTER I RETURNED FROM THE CONCERT, THERE WAS A BUG IN MY BATHROOM. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE FRONT DESK AN AFRICAN AMERICAN MALE ANSWERED ADVISING THAT IN HIS 2 YRS WORKING FOR THE MOTEL THAT HE NEVER HEARD OF ANY BUGS. I TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD CHECK OUT IN THE MORNING AND DID NOT WANT TO STAY ANOTHER NIGHT.

THE NEXT MORNING I TOLD THE INDIAN WOMAN I WANTED TO CHECK OUT AND DID NOT WANT TO STAY ANOTHER NIGHT. SHE BECAME DISGRUNTLED AND BEGAN TO TELL ME THERE WAS NO REFUND SO I TOLD HER A ROACH WAS IN MY BATHROOM AND SHE IMMEDIATELY BECAME UPSET AND TOLD ME I WAS LYING AND WAS POINTING HER FINGER AT ME. SHE ACCUSED ME OF MAKING UP A STORY BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO STAY ANOTHER NIGHT. THIS WOMAN WAS VERY RUDE AND CONFRENTATIONAL SHE HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AND SHOULD NOT BE WORKING BEHIND ANYONE'S COUNTER. AS I WENT BACK AND FORTH WITH THE LADY HER MANAGER CAME OUT AND TRIED TO REASON WITH HER TO STOP YELLING SHE COULD NOT CONTROL HERSELF. HE DIDN'T DO ANY BETTER HE WAS VERY RUDE AND CONFRENTATIONAL AS WELL. I TRIED TO SHOW HIM THE VIDEO OF THE BUG IN THE BATHROOM AND HE SHOVED MY PHONE BACK THROUGH THE SMALL HOLE IN THE GLASS. HE TOLD ME TO TAKE MY THINHS AND GET OUT!!! HE TOLD ME I WAS LYING AND THEY HAVE EXTERMINATORA THAT COME MONTHLY AND THAT NO ONE ELSE COMPLAINED. I TOLD THEM WHEN MY CHILD IS READY WE WOULD LEAVE. HE TOLD ME I WOULD NEVER TAKE MY CHILDREN WHERE THERE IS BUGS AT A HOTEL.

I WENT BACK UPSTAIRS TO GET MY THINGS, I CAME BACK DOWN AND SPOKE WITH THE LADY WHOSE LICENSE PLATE WAS STOLEN OFF OF HER CAR. SHE WITNESSED HOW THEY TREATED ME. THE MALE INDIAN MAN CAME OUT TO TALK TO HER, AND HE WAS RUDE TO HER AS WELL. I RECORDED THE CONVERSATION HE BECAME HE ANGRY THAT I WAS RECORDING HIM AND TOLD ME IT WAS AGAINST THE LAW AND THAT HE WAS CALLING THE POLICE. THE INDIAN WOMAN CAME OUT AND SAYS THAT SHE WAS CALLING THE POLICE AND ALSO TOLD THE MALE THAT SHE GETS NO REFUND..

I ALSO CALLED THE POLICE SO THAT I COULD GET A REPORT OF THE ENTIRE ISSUE. THE POLICE ARRIVE AND SPEAK WITH ME FIRST. NO CRIME WAS COMMITTED SO THE ISSUE IS CIVIL HE WENT INTO REASON WITH THE STAFF THAT WERE TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. WHEN HE RETURNED HE ADVISED ME THAT RECORDING SOMEONE IN PUBLIC IS NOT ILLEGAL. I GAVE THEM THE ROOM KEY TO GIVE BACK TO THE STAFF.

MY OPINION THIS HOTEL IS A SLEEP/STAY FOR TRUCKERS OR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE A HOME. I WOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR A REASONABLE STAY AND FOR REASONABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. ALSO, THE DOWNTOWN PART NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM THIS LISTING BECAUSE THIS PLACE DOES NOT COINCIDE WITH ANY DOWNTOWN HOTEL AND IT IS MISLEADING. DON'T BE ATTRACTED TO THE CHEAP PRICE, QUALITY IS EVERYTHING!!!

I RECEIVED A CHECK OUT EMAIL NOTICE TODAY, I LEFT AND CHECKED OUT OF THE HOTEL ON THURSDAY.

DON'T...

This hotel as it is today, would not be a top choice of the ones I would recommend in the Saint Louis region. They definitely could use some improvement and its simple small things but they have a huge impact on a guests satisfaction. There was a issue at check-in reservation dates where wrong. Long story short what should have been a simple fix turns out to be me paying $167.00 for two nights that where on then wrong dates. Which between Orbitz and the gentleman on staff they canceled my original reservation which means the money had to be refunded........(in 3 to 5 days) ...... UGH NO.... I have a issue with that.

Anyway I give the worker that was worker all the credit he really did try hard....up until he found out that it had already been canceled and refunded. Then I was forced to pay almost $30.00 more for a night through them. I guess it was impossible for them to at the very minimum match the price that I was supposed to pay.... but nothing.

After finally getting checked-in and up to the room, looking it over its not the worst I have stayed in by any means and I know you can only expect so much for the price but my BIG ISSUE that I really have is; Due to COVID I know that ALL businesses and I am sure there may be specific things that the CDC requires them to do for sanitation reasons, and there is no way that they are being met.

Doing my standard wipe down of everything just as a general disinfectant ( which I will always do no matter the price of the hotel) it was disturbing it looks as if the table tops had been quickly wiped down (missing the edges) The doors or door handles had food and fingerprints still all over them, along with the lamps. The light switches had dirt fingerprints on them as well as the wall around the cover. The microwave was covered in fingerprints and had sticky gunk I will call it that turned black at first glance it looked like residue left after removing a couple of big stickers.... Well either way a little elbow grease and it was gone.

These are simple things and if they managed to improve these and a few other minor things it would greatly increase satisfaction as well as the reviews they receive. The disinfectant water i was using turned black twice due to just wiping things down that you would generally come in...
