The hotel rooms were just fine, nothing special, but more than adequate, as was the breakfast. The problem I had was that covid guidelines and even some standard hotel rules were not being followed. The pool area was by reservation only. We were informed about this when we checked in. We reserved a time slot at the pool and went to the front desk at our time so they could let us in (only staff key card could open the door), however, when we were let in, there was another family in there and the place was a mess. Staff just walked away without a word. The family in there proceeded to stuff a towel under the door to keep it open and had family (not staying at the hotel) over. They even brought in cases of beer, some of which were in glass bottles (there was a sign saying no glass in the pool area). They used all the towels and left trash all over. The next time we reserved the pool, we were the only ones there, but again, all the towels were laying around used and trash all over. Even a used bandaid on the ground and food wrappers. I asked for more towels and was given 2 and told they'd bring more as soon as they could. That never happened. Not only that, but staff opened the door to ask how long our reservation was for because others wanted to use the pool while we were there (you can only book 1hr per room, we had 2 rooms and got 2 hrs, we weren't reserving the whole day or anything). How can the staff not even know this information? You literally book it at the front desk and they're the ones who were questioning us. They had a different staff member come in to ask us again just a little bit later too, and it was extremely uncomfortable to be...
Read moreWe were on a 900 plus mile trip and decided to stay in Stockton for the night. Due to having to charge the car and stopping to see friends and family along the way, we spent 17 hours in the car. ||||When we arrived at 1:30 am, the front desk clerk was cheery, smiling, and treated us as if it was 1:30 in the afternoon. The room was comfortable, spacious, and quiet. The hallway was well lit unlike a lot of other hotels. ||||The bathroom has large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash made by Dove. This shows that the hotel obviously cares about the environment. ||||The breakfast was hot, plentiful, and the the two ladies that worked in the kitchen (we stayed 2 different times on the same trip) were AMAZING! Liz and Danielle were both very helpful, struck up a conversation with everyone, and we even saw them helping some other guests figure out how to make some food to go since they had to leave quickly. This hotel is easy on and off the highway. The front desk has a list of recommended restaurants within a 15 minute drive.||||The only one negative about this hotel is the bathroom door. The doors have an automatic closing hinge on them and no matter how far you open the door, it closes itself. Our little dog was almost squished a couple times when she followed us into the bathroom. The weight of the door with the hinge could cause some difficulty for someone that has some dexterity or mobility concerns. ||||Other than the door, our stay was great both nights and we will be...
Read moreI stayed in the Stockton Holiday Inn Express for five nights in March 2017 for a business trip. Upon check-in the front desk staff was very friendly and had my room keys to me very quickly. Initial impression of the room that it was clean and larger than average for a similar hotel. I had a king size bed with a mattress that was firm, but comfortable. Plenty of lighting and areas to plug-in/charge my lap top/phone/tablet. Free wireless internet was adequate, but I did not attempt to stream a move so I cannot express an opinion about it. Bathroom appeared to be a bit larger than normal and was very clean. Negatives were that the bathroom had poor lighting which made shaving more difficult in the AM and there was no bathroom fan so the mirrors clouded up quickly with the shower running. The towels had a "burnt hair" smell to them, but to the hotel's housekeeping credit they replaced them every day of my stay even after I hung them up. My room was very stuffy and the thermostat read 78 degrees, but when I flicked the switch to "cool" nothing happened and it remained very warm all evening every evening I was there. I did not call the front desk to complain so perhaps they could have done something about it. Free breakfast was average at best with airline quality food, but the cleanliness was top-notch as was presentation of food area. Overall I was satisfied with my stay and would come back if traveling again...
