So... I've never stayed in a B&B, I'm more of a Hilton Garden Inn with a BWW next door, but my wife likes to try and expand my horizons..
Consider them expanded!!!!
As we drove in I immediately noticed how beautiful the views were and the property. It's proximity to attractions was excellent. I was scared about having to maybe share a bathroom with other guest but the room we got had its own facilities. The owners, Don & Andrew, have put in extra thought on the little things to keep you comfortable.... Noise machines in the rooms to help you sleep. If you're familiar with small northern New England towns; then you'll know a "side street" is rare.
Our room, facilities & common areas were spotless. The selection of available amenities, to include the adult variety, were plentiful and had all local connections. The food for breakfast....... DAMN!!!! Both mornings were great. The snacks at night were phenomenal.
We didn't get a chance to meet Andrew but Don seems to be the front man anyways and is extremely personable and attending (More then I would have expected a B&B to be.) There is plenty of things to do right in the B&B if weather doesn't cooperate as well.
Lastly, their use of technology to ensure customer satisfaction as well as allowing them to step away without worrying if a guest needs or desires something is brilliant! Gives them just a little more freedom.
We should also note that there were a couple folks there that didn't realize that a B&B is also generally the proprietors home. They also certainly didn't look at any of the write ups regarding the Brass Latern and its other reviews. Don handled them with tact and respect... Which earned him ours.
All in all, we need to thank them for a great & affordable weekend! Give the...
Read moreMy husband and I just completed a four night stay at Brass Lantern Inn and would highly recommend, without hesitation, to anyone visiting the area. Easily located with fantastic proximity to downtown/shopping/quality restaurants/grocery, we found it to be extremely welcoming with owners that obviously take pride in not only the property itself, but the experience they provide to their guests. Common areas and our specific guest room (Madonna Peak), were charming and clean with considerate attention to detail. Daily breakfast exceeded expectation, even after reading the previously left positive reviews of the food prior to our arrival. Evening provided treats were just as wonderful, and we found ourselves skipping dessert when dining out as we knew they would be so good when we returned to the Inn. On a clear day, the mountain view is breathtaking and even on overcast days, the atmosphere is serene and pretty. Bountiful suggestions for the areas activities were happily provided which was a great help in the planning our days. We very much look forward to enjoying the Brass Lantern Inn again when...
Read moreAlways my favorite place to stay when in the area. Mary Anne & George do an absolutely amazing job with every part of your stay. From the detail put into the ammenities and cleanliness of the entire bed and breakfast, to the comforting hospitality and knowledge of the area. This was my third or fourth visit up to stay at the Brass Lantern and I've never left disappointed. To start the day, George's home-cooked breakfast is a perfect touch, offering fresh fruit, fresh juices and coffee, as well as their specialty of the day. Mary Anne gave us an incredibly in-depth list of places to venture off to enjoy Stowe's nature and nice weather. After exploring downtown and the hiking trails, it was relaxing to enjoy the hot tub with scenic views of Mt. Mansfield in the distance. The area has plenty of offer as well, including small town charm, great restaraunts, recreation trails, and scenic vistas everywhere. Definately won't be the last time we visit, looking forward to getting up again soon!
Thanks again for everything over...
