Mountain Song Vacation Apartments — Hotel in Stratmoor

Really nice, clean place to stay with all the amenities and coin laundry. Had plenty of space, way more than we needed but I am not complaining. The owner was really helpful and responsive with my texts. He was also very patient with me as I feel bad for blowing up their phone with all my questions and concerns. The place had everything we needed, extra blankets, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, plates, 5 beds, 3 bedrooms, living room, dinning room, patio. Came with a fully stocked kitchen, i.e. a stove, fridge, countertop, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, double sink. Rooms were clean and homely, and all the bedrooms are carpeted. Came with wifi, tv, and even netflix. I mean, what more could you also for? I saw some ppl complain about it because of the neighborhood and because it wasn't like a house, but hey it sure beats staying at some low star hotel, right? I really enjoyed the stay, and hope I can comeback and stay again soon. If I could give this place zero stars I would. We booked thinking we would be getting a nice apartment however upon arriving we instantly regretted booking this place. While the pics of the inside did look nice the outside was anything but. The neighborhood looked ghetto in every aspect of the word. There were dumpsters around over flowing with trash. The apt itself was boarded up on the sliding door for the balcony. They small yard was trashythe yard was not cut. Did not feel safe at all. I text the guy from the property to let him know we were going to cx due to the neighborhood and the boarded up sliding door. He said the neighborhood was safe & that it was boarded up due to a fire but did not let us know anything at all. Needless to say we cx. Cost us $400 to cx but we just took the loss because we were not about to stay there. Don't let the pics fool you. While the inside may look nice I can assure you the neighborhood is iffy & sketchy. The 2 bedroom, 1 bath "apartment" has a Colorado Springs address, but it is in a run down portion of Strathmore which is an unincorporated area of C. Springs. We are not fussy travelers, but this place was far below expectation and what was advertised on booking.com. We arrived late at night and were leery of getting out of the car just by the looks of the front & building entrance (see pics) The unit was clean and everything, except a toaster & patio furniture, were provided. Other than that it was hard to find anything positive to say about the place. The fridge rattled so hard the first night it could be heard with the bedroom doors closed. The manager did fix it and reinstalled the smoke alarm. There were no drawers in the 2nd bedroom (bunk twin beds & additional twin).
