There were MANY positives and I would recommend this place. Plenty of hooks for everyone's coats, bathroom items, towels, clothes etc. I love that in a place to stay. Cabin 1 is tastefully decorated and had extra towels, extra blankets and plenty of pillows. it is important to know that you will not be able to cook a meal here. Yes there is a toaster oven and a microwave but both are quite small. You can make toast, heat up leftovers, and make coffee and tea, but that's about it. I don't think the toaster oven would be big enough for even a small frozen pizza. That's fine and everything is very clean - but it's just important to know. The mini fridge does have a tiny separate freezer. The toiletries were nice and the towels were soft and nice quality. There was a binder with all kinds of maps and things to do. My only complaint is that I could not sleep well. They have bright lights outside, which makes walking down the stone steps to the parking lot safe; however, the bedroom has windows facing the walkways, and as you can see from my photos at 10 PM when I wanted to go to sleep, it is quite bright and does not feel private. For a minimal expense, they could install cheap roller shades and it would have made a world of difference in the bedroom. For a little bit more they could do blinds. At $400 per night I would have expected a better sleeping experience. But if that doesn't bother you, everything...
Read moreOur family spent a wonderful weekend at Sunapee Harbor Cottages. We stayed Cottage #6 which had an beautiful view of the harbor from our patio. Room was clean and sleeps five comfortably (queen bed on first floor and three twins on the upstairs loft. Room also had a kitchenette. There was a patio and gas grill outside (which came in handy for one of our dinners. As a bonus, when we arrived late at night after all local restaurants and grocery stores closed, there was bread, peanut butter, soup packets and Swiss Miss hot cocoa waiting for us so we wouldn’t go to bed hungry! There was a small beach across the street to launch our kayak and explore the lake. We were easy walking distance from two restaurants, a general store, ice cream stand, smoothie restaurant and a riverwalk. Mount Sunapee was only six miles away. By staying at the cottage, we also had free use of a town beach just a mile away (which came in handy since we could not get into the main state park beach in Newbury. With the Covid 19 pandemic, you need to make a reservation ahead of time to use the state park beach.) Proprietors at the Sunapee Cottages were friendly and helpful. Overall, a...
Read moreRecently relocating from Colorado, I opted to stay at Sunapee Harbor Cottages, because I thought I could have a iconic New England experience for my transition. Little did I know just how special my time there would be. The tidy complex of cozy, light-filled houses sits just above the public harbor and affords a view of an idyllic village and the pristine, peaceful lake amid a verdant forested setting. Every day there was a magnificent skyscape, which I could view through the cottage windows, on the porch, at the nearby water's edge, or from my bed in the loft. An ideal host, Stephanie has designed the interior to a high spec with hygge details that made me feel comfortable and at home. Having had a nomadic life for many months, I appreciated the little extra she provided like professionally cleaned sheets and an up-to-date kitchenette. She maintains the property to a high standard and is responsive to and respectful of your needs. What a wonderful place to get away by yourself or with...
