My cousin and I optimistically launched the boat with black clouds looming and made it past the no wake marker in the harbor as we witnessed the first lightning bolt. We bolted back to the dock, tied up and ran to The Blue Canoe as the skies opened with torrential rain. Were we ever lucky! The staff gleefully greeted us as we came in out of the rain and happily told us to pick a table. Melissa came to our table and took the brunt of our silly dad jokes without a flinch. We knew we wanted to bide our time until the storm past. We ordered our beers and slow rolled our food order. Melissa was happily accommodating but I’m sure relieved when we ordered the Crispy Gochujang Chicken Wings to share. A friendly staff member casually stopped by and described the Chef’s wonderful obsession about massaging his flavorful marinade into those chicken wings and letting them rest overnight to absorb the flavor. The crispy wings arrived and we were treated to the fruits of his labor. They were crispy, full of flavor and slip off the bone delicious. We were two very happy guys! Next, opting for something a little lighter, we went for the bowl dishes. Not that we both didn’t contemplate the Grilled 8-ounce Beef Burger. 🍔 Haha. My cousin chose the Faroe Island Salmon Poke bowl, while I chose the Crispy Coconut Shrimp bowl. Both bowls were fresh and delicious. All throughout our visit Melissa was jovial and the staff was friendly. Speaking for myself, I need to go back and bring some friends to try more items of the Chef’s menu. I’ll update you with another review on...
Read moreAte here on Sunday night. It was my first time in sunapee and this was one of the nicer (and only open) restaurants in the harbor. The location is beautiful. The building looks modern enough, nautical themed and it's right on the water. You can't beat the view! The food is pricey though. We got the fried whole belly clams, the plate was $36. I think we got maybe nine clams total and the rest were fries. The whole dish needed salt in my opinion, and the coleslaw and the fries were mid, But the clam batter was fantastic. They make their own tartar and I missed the bites of pickle in the relish in standard tartar but it was still good. We also got the cornbread. The cornbread was amazing. And we got the crab rangoon dip. That was actually pretty good also. All in all the food was really good. Our server was super friendly and really nice, but Little things were missed like bringing a pen to sign the check and forgetting the tartar with the meal. No big deal and I would...
Read more5/5 All the way!! Opened 7 weeks ago and we did not experience any growing pains. They knocked it out of the park. From the food to location to great service. Opened year round with outdoor seating that is seasonal. Full bar. Nice selection of wine and great crafted cocktails. Looks cozy inside w room for a larger party. Started with the cornbread with maple butter. Soft with a crispy top and mouthwatering maple butter had me contemplating what else could I slather this on. Choice of lobster roll hot or cold. Reasonably priced at $36. Comes with fries or coleslaw. Husband ordered chicken sandwich and they accommodated his request for blackened Cajun seasoning. Dessert menu was lovely and we had the crème brûlée that did not disappoint. We sat on the water and it was a beautiful Fall day!! I can not wait...
