I would say our recent 5 night stay here was GOOD, but not GREAT & that is par for the course these days. I will spend some time outlining pros & cons as I personally enjoy reading reviews to make big vaca decisions. The hotel rooms are small. My husband, myself & my 14 yr old stayed here 5 nights in July. There is barely enough room to walk at the foot of bed in front of TV. Balconies outside the rooms are also very small. 2 people can sit out there, but there is barely any leg room. We stayed on the Pool side of hotel so that we didn't have to look at ugly view of the Pier Construction. I recommend doing same when booking. This was a good choice & hotel accomodated this request. We stayed on the 7th floor. All rooms are side view, & that was ok. It's weird to me there are no views/rooms in the very front of hotel that face the actual ocean, but it is what it is. I would say 5th or 6th floor would be ideal for a view. They do try to accomodate requests, so make them when you book. You have to make an appt. to have your room cleaned, so call the front desk if you will be gone at least 2 hrs. Making the appt. the day of works just fine. You need a clean everyday, or at least we did with all the sand that we drug in and all of unescapable humidity/dampness in the Summer months. The room was damp, our clothes/bathing suits never really dried. However, this is the overall climate in the area, so not much hotel could do on that front. AC unit in room looks ancient, but worked really well. Thought we had an issue with it, called front desk & they sent someone up ASAP, & it was just operator error. Hot Water worked good for our multiple showers we took every day. At one point, all 3 of our key cards stopped working & we were in a huge hurry to go do an activity, but I called the front desk and they rushed a new set for us. The Coffee Bar in the lobby is fantastic. Always stocked & had tons of the flavored foo foo creamers. I have never seen complimentary coffee in a hotel quite like this, so that was an added bonus. The underground parking is limited, but nice. The elevators run super slow, but so do most in hotels like this. You need to swipe your key card when going up, which was a huge hassle, but I think their way of adding some security. Pool area is small but clean. It was nice to go straight to Ground level & walk just a tiny ways and be on the beach. Sink & mirror are not in the same room as the shower & toilet for the Queen room with balcony that I was in. This was weird, and a bit of an inconvenience since the sink & mirror were in the main room that was already small. This hotel is next to like 4 main bars. Only 1 served breakfast (Neal & Pams), but it was good. It was just pretty inconvenient to have only 1 option nearby for breakfast & NO options at all at the actual hotel. This hotel is also next to TONS of condos, so there is a lot of people/ foot traffic. The bar/restaurants are super crowded because of this. Bubbas Fish Shack across the street has fantastic burgers but we waited over an hour to be seated, so plan accordingly. We were here the week of the 4th, so the beach and the bars yielded a lot of drunk people, so be mindful of that if traveling in on a holiday. Beach was clean, but not much wildlife like we have seen at other beaches. The 3 bedroom condos in the area go for around $2800 wk & we paid around $1500 for 5 nights here. Pricing is fair i guess, but it would have been nice to see it a bit less than $300 a night for the quality of the hotel, but its on the Ocean, so thats what you pay for. Fireworks on the 4th were fabulous right on the beach. I am glad we stayed on the beach to watch it & did not drive to the 2nd Avenue Pier like the front desk suggested. We were told there would be 0 fireworks on the beach by the front desk, & they were everywhere Z& it was amazing. Overall a good hotel, & decent experience, but nothing extraordinary, but still did the job & it was a good...

Hotel: We booked this hotel as a quick mini getaway with the kids before school started. When we first pulled up we were a little nervous (we've had some bad experiences) but were surprised once we parked. The hotel is as it states right on the beach. Check in was a breeze and they even give you a complementary box of Salt Water Taffy which we all enjoyed! The hallway right off the elevator was rather narrow and might be a challenge if you have larger luggage. The staff is friendly and pleasant and provide you with all the items you need for a comfortable stay!! The lobby smelled great and was a great indicator of how our stay was going to be!
Rooms: The rooms aren't beach facing but if you stand on the balcony you can see the beach from your room. (partial view) At least from the room we had on the 5th floor. Even though we had a balcony, the room wasn't big. This might be an issue if you are a larger family. We are a family of 4 and I would suggest to get 2 rooms if you like your space. The bathroom is rather small and the sink is outside of the bathroom. In the bathroom is just the shower/tub and the toilet. However the shower gels, shampoo and conditioner all smelled nice. The beds were okay. They were super soft and a little lumpy in places but I did fall asleep so they weren't too bad. I just like my mattress a little firmer.
Area: There are a few restaurants around (immediate walking distance) but due to our quick stay we didn't get to partake in any of them. However what I thought was a cool perk is that you could show your room key and receive 10% off of your bill at any of those places which is nice. There is construction happening on the Pier which is right next to the hotel. While no actual construction happened during our stay, the construction site of the Pier was a bit of an eye sore. I'm thankful my room wasn't facing it, that's for sure.
Beach: The beach is a few steps away which is nice. It wasn't crowded on a Saturday which we appreciated and we were able to enjoy a few hours on the beach. We had plenty of space to stretch out and set up our chairs and umbrellas that we brought along.
Pool: This hotel does have a pool. But we didn't get to visit it. It was rather small but it was clean and that's all you can ask for.
Overall we would stay at this hotel again. The cost was reasonable, the area was nice and safe, the staff was great, there were nearby restaurants, it was right on the beach and the rooms were clean!! However we would opt for a bigger room, or 2 rooms...
Read moreWe stayed Monday through Friday at this resort in the middle of June. The price was really good for the week. We felt like we had plenty of time there, even though we didnt stay through the weekend. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are really comfortable if you like a softer bed. We reserved a junior suite so that we could have the pull out bed (we are a family of 5), however the pull out bed was really uncomfortable and hard. We ended up squeezing into the two queen beds. I would have preferred to get a double bed room with a balcony for a lower rate and brought an air mattress. It would have been nice to dry towels on the balcony.
I don't think they offer breakfast, but they're are a couple places in the parking lot that had good food, surfside diner serves breakfast till 12 and then they had a lunch/diner menu with outside seating. There's a burger place that had excellent burgers (riverside cafe) and a pizza place Hyena pizza that had opened during our stay and had amazing pizza. We also brought cearle and lunch meat and the fridge was big enough to store those things in the jr suite.
The pool was nice and you could walk right out of the hotel onto the beach. We brought a tent (10×10) to set up on the beach, but we only used it one day because it had to be behind the umbrellas and we were not close to the water. We could have really benefitted from having this. The umbrellas have two chairs with them and are $30 to rent for the day, but don't offer much shade. We were all burnt even after many sunblock applications on the first day which made the next two days unbearable. The sand was so hot in the middle of the day so I think we avoided running through the sand to the tent, and ended up burnt.
The main downside to this hotel is waiting for the elevators, sometimes you would have to wait 10 mins and then one would come and it would be full. With kids and full hands of beach stuff it would have been difficult to go up and down the stairs lughing all of those things. The hallways off the elevators are narrow so when you're bringing up you're things on a cart be prepared to run into traffic jams during peak times. The hotel is updated and clean.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Hopefully this review will help in planning your trip to...
