Chimichanga llama — Restaurant in Surfside Beach

I recently visited chimichanga llama with high hopes of enjoying a pleasant dining experience. However, I must express my utmost disappointment with the service provided, or rather, the complete lack thereof. It is disheartening to write this review, as I had heard positive things about this establishment, but my recent visit was nothing short of frustrating.

From the moment I entered the restaurant, I noticed a lack of attention and care from the staff. After being seated, I eagerly awaited the arrival of a server to take our order or at least provide us with menus. Unfortunately, it seemed as though we were invisible to the entire waitstaff, who were busy attending to other tables and chatting amongst themselves.

As time passed, my patience wore thin, and I began to wonder if anyone would acknowledge our presence. Despite numerous attempts to catch a server's attention, we were consistently overlooked. It was baffling to witness the staff breezing past our table without even making eye contact or acknowledging our existence.

Ultimately, we made the difficult decision to leave the restaurant due to the lack of service. It was clear that our presence did not matter to the staff, and we did not wish to waste any more of our time in such a neglectful environment.

While I cannot comment on the quality of the food, as we were never given the opportunity to place an order, the complete disregard for customer service overshadowed any other aspect of our dining experience. A basic expectation when visiting a restaurant is to have attentive staff who cater to the needs of their customers. Regrettably, they failed miserably in this regard.

I believe it is important to provide honest feedback to help establishments improve their services. I hope that the management takes this review constructively and addresses the issues that led to such an unpleasant encounter. As a customer, I value good service and appreciate when establishments prioritize the satisfaction of their patrons.

I genuinely hope that this review serves as a wake-up call for the staff prompting them to reevaluate their approach to customer service. It is essential to remember that patrons should be treated with respect and attentiveness, regardless of the circumstances. Sadly, my experience at was a stark contrast to this expectation.

I am a local stay away from this place a tourist trap. I typically do not give bad reviews unless there’s Multiple issues with my visit. I’ve eaten all over the country at different restaurants and around the world so I just don’t take the time to put a bad review. I ordered my appetizer queso dip with all the extras in it they only brought out queso dip by itself then the chips were salted like snowflakes ( I mixed the chips up so the salt could mix and it was still heavy). so if you have high blood pressure which fortunately I do not then take your medicine before you eat the chips. I did not get any napkins until I got my main entree the 3 tacos . I had to ask for them and zero napkins or utensils on the table . So I ate my entire appetizer with no napkins. So who eats with your hands and you get nothing on the table or your hands. No plates neither. The Birria taco was highly consumed with salt or the thick consummate juice was highly salted and was the worst birria taco I’ve ever had. Soaked in salt. Then I ordered a to go order for my real estate client who lives 10 minutes away and they did not have any to go bags to put it in that the only bags they had was super large and was for a family of four takeout order and so I had to take my to go order in my hands. I still paid for my entire bill and the bill was $42 and gave the waiter 3 $20 bills and he asked me if I needed change. Wow 😳! I did not ask for any discount and I still gave the young 16 year kid at a 20% tip. But the staff is not trained well and the Cook staff is not use to cooking this type of food and not making this from scratch. Stay away. I wanted to try it cause the laughing hyena across from it has dynamite gourmet pizza and it was my 1st trip and last to this place. I was there on Saturday March 22nd around 130 pm range . If you're looking to relax, there are plenty of spots to lay down a towel and enjoy a good book or take a nap under the sun.
