I stayed at the property during Hurricane Helene. My stay was comfortable & peaceful until they started painting in the hallways and repairing their front doors early in the mornings! However, the hotel is great for the price, the beds are comfortable. I love the fact pets are accepted with open arms! The worst part of my stay was meeting the GM, Summer! True enough it was right after they retained power but she was the rudest, most inept person I’ve encountered. She was not experienced enough to lead her team thru a difficult situation, could not figure out how to stop third party bookings and was rude to prospective guest! She called my room after 8 pm. She did not introduce herself or give her title. She began to tell me how I was supposed to check out although one employee had already extended my stay which she threatened to fire him for it! A person that worked during the entire storm well into the next day! My card was charged the amount I paid for a weeks stay at 11 a.m “, the hotel did not have power so I physically went in to speak to someone and the service was awesome! Summer informed me she would be charging me an extra $196 along with the pet fee of $75 for the extended stay! Upon checking in that Monday I emailed my animals documentation and was told I would not be charged the pet fees. Once I asked her for her name and title then her managers name she blatantly refused to give me the information requested! I went to the front desk where she acted like a immature child. She then proceeded to “ attempt” to talk to me like it was the 50s and told me I could be quite and go to my room. I refused to retreat to my room because she said so and she called the police to TRY to get me escorted off the property. I’m 7 months pregnant, I was traveling with my child and dog! The police had to report to her nonsense during a disaster! After showing my bank transactions, showing the videos of her character and explaining the situation I WAS NOT removed from the hotel even though she lied to the police and told them I did not pay, had insufficient funds and was refusing to leave! Which reminds me.. I booked “reserve now pay later”… they charged my card for incidentals at 3 pm but I didn’t physically arrive until 7:30 pm! So yes the card did have insufficient funds due to the fact I was not intending on paying with that specific card so I had to go add money to that card to be able to check in with it because the hotel charged my card when they we’re not supposed to! I have worked for luxury hotels, I hold a degree in hospitality management and have been a licensed property manager for the last 16 years managing and maintaining million dollar assets! I don’t know what back to work program they found her at but I would return her with...
Read moreI wish I could give zero stars. Upon walking into the room, the first thing I noticed was the smell. I was going to overlook it as I was only staying one night, but as I sat down on the bed, I noticed a brown stain on the carpet when I shine light on it, I saw a similar brown chunky residue that had dripped down the side of the bed frame and dried, and then the same brown stain on the bed bedsheets right where the pillows were... It looked like somebody had gotten sick and the room was not cleaned correctly. HARD NO FOR ME!! when I went out to the front desk and told her she went and looked at it and came out and said it looks like somebody spilled coffee to which I replied, if the rooms are being cleaned after each guest, who was in there drinking coffee, sitting right where a guest will be putting their head? And then not having the room properly cleaned again. DISGUSTING. This place honestly gave me the ICK. It starts off EH and then gets worse and worse. The lady at the front desk took about 3 1/2 minutes to even look up at me while I was standing there trying to check in with my two young kids only for her to finally look up and say yes ma'am, and I said I need to check in. She didn't say another word to me the entire time took a phone call while I'm standing there ended the phone call looked at me awkwardly and said it's waiting on you.... I was like I'm waiting on you to explain to me what to do not knowing I was supposed to tap my card this whole time. I've never been greeted so unfriendly at a hotel. The card machine read $197 which was not the correct price so I never put my card thinking that wasn't for me. She didn't even explain to me there was $100 refundable hold for the room... which is why I didn't think that was the right price. She was very unpleasant. Needless to say after the stain, the smell the unfriendly service I told her I can't stay here. She did refund my money, but that's because I told her I wanted a manager if there was gonna be any issue with me getting 100% of my money back.....AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
ALSO, I'M CONVINCED THIS HOTEL ONLY HAS DECENT REVIEWS BECAUSE THEY HAVE A WHEEL IN THE FRONT LOBBY THAT GIVES AWAY FREE STUFF IF YOU LEAVE A GOOD REVIEW! Because there's no way there's honestly that many happy customers. If you read the bad reviews, I'm telling you right now. They're all 100% true and the other people probably just wanted some...
Read moreLodging in Tallahassee tends to fall into two categories: overpriced or borderline dangerous.. So, finding a clean, modern hotel at just $60 a night had me skeptical, but pleasantly surprised. I booked a couple of months in advance, and while the location isn’t ideal, it’s reasonably close to the Capitol and FSU.
On arrival,The grounds were very well maintained.
The lobby was modern and attractive but hot and stuffy. At check-in, I was the only guest but there was a delay due to a key card system issue. I was checked in, but the key card did not work I gave them time to fix it while I grabbed my bags, but when I returned 15 minutes later, I waited another 15 minutes as others were checked in ahead of me. I eventually had to ask directly for my key, which still wasn’t ready. I felt rude, interrupting as she began to anssist another guest, but I had a reservation I needed to make it to.
My room, located just off the lobby and across from the breakfast area, was noisy with heavy foot traffic, but impressively clean, efficient, and stylish for the rate. The room layout made great use of space, and the bed was comfortable. A small inconvenience with the TV remote (dead batteries) wasn’t resolved until later that night, About six hours later, after another reminder.
Noise was a consistent issue both mornings, with early risers and breakfast room activity making it tough to sleep padt 7am. That said, breakfast was solid—waffle maker, good coffee, and real orange juice.
Though far from perfect, for $60 a night this place exceeded expectations. I’d definitely stay again, but next time I’ll request a second-floor room, far from the lobby and breakfast area (avoid rooms 114–120). It was also a bit annoying to walk past an employee consistently smoking in front of a “No Smoking” sign by the side entrance where I parked.
AI responses to guest reviews are cringy and impersonal. They are clearly not human generated and have the opposite effect of a branding attempt to create more familiar connections.
Overall: great value with room for improvement, but much better than expected at this...
