This was a nice campground. We spent three nights total here in a popup camper, and we enjoyed every bit of it. If you are wanting super spacious camp sites, we'll it's not exceptionally so. Yes, you can see your neighbors, but that said you aren't crammed in like sardines (and yes I have actually been to "camprgrounds" that have you just that close together with your neighbors sewage right next to your picnic table so this is loads better). Each site is fairly roomy, most have gravel to flatten the spot, every site I saw was nice and shady, and there's at least a few feet between sites, some more than others. Honestly, the distance between sites is fairly standard for state parks, at least in GA.

The campground itself has very friendly staff and campground hosts. We were treated great the whole time. All of the sites were very clean. I actually saw the campground host going by recently emptied sites to check them and clean up anything left behind.

Located at the campground is an entrance to the Tallulah Gorge State Park trails, conveniently located to access the main trails. Within a short walking distance you can view the dam and just a little further the beach at the lake. Personally, we opted to drive to the Interprative Center to walk the trails of the actual gorge because we didn't want to be tired already before we even got to get to the bridge, let alone coming back. But you can get there from the campground trail access.

My only real complaint was that the bathrooms were not great. The stalls, especially for the showers, are so small you can't really even wash yourself without bashing your head while trying to bend down. There was nowhere to put you clean clothes and towels in the outer stalls, so you just had to either place them on the floor 😬 or lay them over the outer stall door and hope everyone is as honest as you. Even the outer stalls are so small that getting dressed after your shower is a chore because you can't really bend down. This was true for the men's and women's bathrooms. The cleanliness could have been better too. My husband said there was one toilet stall that was unusable our whole stay because it was clogged and never cleaned up and they had another stall run out of toilet paper for a whole day. The women's restroom stalls weren't that bad, thankfully, but it did not appear as though anyone ever came and cleaned it, just replaced toilet paper and the trash.

Overall, the site was lovely and well kept. It has easy access to both the state park and town with plenty to do nearby. The bathroom situation could use a little work, but otherwise I have no real complaints. I wouldn't be against staying here again as there is so much to do and see, even in three days we couldn't get...

Great access to trails and the beach. Please be mindful and clear the street of gravel and look around the campground to help others and pick up the bits of stray trash around, etc, its a way of paying it forward and it's helps the grounds keepers too... they so work hard and keep those bathrooms and trash cans tiddy. I also spoke with the grounds keeper too about is HAM setup for a bit SUPER nice guy!!!👍 I was also ecstatic to see the different state park peeps patrolling, she stopped and complemented me and offered me a job cleaning her house. I said yes 🏅 later a police officer came by and invited us again to the Bluegrass Festival same person from last year very nice guy. I wanted to go both times but haven't because I'm a Dad and kids need there sleep too. One note it's not quite, your close to a highway and those tractor trailers, trucks and loud bikes with open exhaust can and will wake you if you a lite sleeper...

I love the feel of the campground. Being at the entrance of the park has its perks. You cab walk the trail at 7am to be have the privilege of bypassing the cars for a hiking permit for weekend trippers. And across the highway from the campground there is a lake you can kayak and take the Littles to safely. The campground has a playground. The reason there is a star missing is the cramped spaces and most importantly how the bathroom near the playground was severely under maintained and cleaned. The whole time I was there (2 nights) one of the 3 toilets was clogged. The toilet stalls were too small even for a medium bolt woman. Walk across the campground to the bathroom near the hosts and it's a world of difference. None of that will keep me from coming...

Sites 41,42,43 are long drive ways, but the road to the site can't accommodate a big rig. There is a tight turn with a narrow road and some low branches. So if your big and tall think twice and do some digging into more reviews of some who may have done it. So far there isn't anyone in these sites bigger than 32is feet. Site 44 is weird with having the table bbq and fire pit on the same side as the water and electric. The bathrooms are old but aren't as filthy as previous reviews. Maybe the park is finally getting the hint after 2 plus years of bad reviews. I would stay again.

The campsites are pretty close together and our site’s (#44) fire pit was awkwardly situated for a tent. The comfort station near the front of the campground is very well kept, the one in the middle, a little less so, but still decent. The campground seems smaller than it looks on the map. The park is pretty, most of the sites are shaded, and there’s an entrance to The trails at the back of the campground. You can hear traffic all day. Still, We had a lovely time over Memorial Day.
