This place was horrible! We stayed over while picking up our 2 new puppies. It was so cold here, a noisy heater that did not work, and the beds uncomfortable. The room seemed clean enough but very dated. Do not take new puppies here, or unvaccinated dogs! Our pups contracted parvo here and died 2 weeks and a huge vet bill later. This was the only place we took them to, no potty stops, etc. They were 8 weeks and had their first set of vaccinations, and they did not come from the breeder with it. My friend had just gotten a pup from her as well. Also healthy! And We got another pup and 2 adult females a month later from her with no issues. And six months later we bought another little female puppy from her. All were healthy and they were vet checked before we picked them up. Please be very careful with your pets and hotels!

Nice, little tucked-away location with super private parking. Yes, the backside of the hotel faces the freeway which can be a little noisier, though there are some trees for privacy and noise abatement. A couple fit-and-finish items could be attended to, but nothing to detract from the cleanliness of the rooms and property. Larger mini fridge so everything fits. The bathroom area with the toilet and bathtub is a little tight with the door so please be aware if you need some accessibility space. (Pic included) There is a small playground and grass area to the west of the hotel building next to the parking lot. (It would be fabulous if they fenced in part of that as a dog run!) Breakfast had a good assortment and all of the employees we had contact with were great. Would stay here again.

Mostly clean and quiet. Staff were very polite. Okay for a one night stay while on the road. It’s next to the McDonalds which is the only dining open at night. They have a vending machine on the first floor with snack food and soda. They have a coin op washer and dryer on the first floor. The front desk doesn’t care what time you use the washer/dryer. There is no elevator so if you’re room is on the second floor you need to be able to carry your luggage up stairs. The breakfast isn’t great. They offer tiny microwave burritos or an egg sandwich (1 per person) plus standard continental cold breakfast options (cereal, yogurt, juice, plain bagel, mini muffins).

I'd like to 1st start by adding that this was our 1st place to make reservations when it came to making reservations 2-3 times a year for employees. However after the horrible, unprofessional and horrendous treatment I was given Tuesday, August 16, 2022 upon trying to check in for my employees. It's something I truly DON'T WISH ANYTHING AN ANYONE. When the employees arrived to check in around 5:50pm that day, the front counter employee by the name of Brandy kept on screaming to them telling them she would NOT allow them at the facility because she could not find any reservation number or a form I had already filled out days before to make everything easy. My employee reached out to me and I asked to speak to the representative at the hotel so I could explain that this form was already emailed to Comfort inn Columbia Gorge and I had confirmation # through email, which I have prove and Candy another rep had completed reservations. I CALLED my employee and asked to hand the phone to the Rep (Brandy) so I could explain the situation, she refused to speak to me. I could here her screaming profanity language in the back ground. I then tried calling the hotel and Brandy would pick up the calls and hung up on me, not allowing me to speak or explain the situation. I called 7 times to resolve and she kept hanging up, finally she picked up after the 8th call and I said can you please listen to me.. I am trying to tell you I have reservation numbers and form in my email I can forward, which I did and she completed reservation. She never apologized her behavior and what's worse is my employee still had her her on speaker while completing check in transaction and she was calling me the B Word, MF word. This was a nightmare. I called the next day to complain and I cannot believe I was told, she was maybe having a bad day. I requested a call from upper management and to this day nobody had ever called. I truly believe people like this SHOULD NOT BE DEALING WITH THE PUBLIC! I deal with the public and I sure know I would never have such employee like this hired at any of my facilities. I would have zero tolerance for Brandy! To make matters worse they never compensated with no discount and even gave me a non member rate when I have been a Choice member since 2012. I called a day after check out Sunday, August 21, 2022 and then again Monday, August 22, they will not return my calls and even emailed them. I sent photos too, because my 2 employees came back with bed bug bites. What a horrible experience. I will never go back there! One is for the awful customer experience, phone experience, the don't care attitude and last sanitary My last resource was to place a complain through Choice hotels. People...

I am a local from WA evacuated due to the Burdoin Fire. I called and was extremely grateful to get the last room available even if it was expensive, a King Suite for which they quoted me over $300/night. I expressed that I was exhausted and stressed having just packed in a hurry and I had my cats as well and asked if they had an evacuee rate. They lowered the price to $286 and the new gal at the desk waived the pet fee. I was excited to see my luxury room. ||||The room was relatively clean but the bedspread was wrinkled, there was a carpet stain and a McDonald’s drink lid on the floor. None of this would have even been an issue for a room at a much lower price but I guess I was looking forward to a little luxury. Regardless, I didn’t care, I was safe and could relax and hopefully watch TV and let the smoke induced headache dissipate. ||||The TV didn’t work, however, and when I went to call the front desk, I learned the phone didn’t work either. So I called the hotel from my cell phone and they said they’d send someone up right away. No one arrived. The toilet was running intermittently all night. ||||After grabbing the free breakfast, I asked again at the front desk about the remote and asked if they had instructions on how to work the remote and could they fix the running toilet. They didn’t know but said the manager would go up and show me. Turns out it was disconnected but she got it plugged back in. She apologized for not coming up the previous night and said she went to the wrong room. No word on the broken phone or running toilet. ||||Despite the do not disturb sign, housecleaning came knocking on the door a bit later. I gave them my trash bag and tried to get back to my nap. A bit later there was another tap on the door and I was instructed to go to the front desk as I needed to vacate the room. What? ||||I called the front desk and was advised that I only had a reservation for one night. No one said anything about that and i assumed incorrectly that being evacuated meant that I might be here for at least a few days. I would have likely kept looking for another room had they let me know this before taking my money. ||||My frustration was growing and I decided to look at the regular pricing for the King Suite on a Saturday night. On the Choice Hotel website, the highest price for this room for the following Sat night was $254 but member price was $205. So I would appear that this hotel took advantage of my situation and shortage of hotel rooms during a fire emergency to jack the price up. ||||I think that’s against the law but maybe not in Oregon? I will be looking into this further. ||||In any case, if you’re looking for common sense, humanity and integrity,...

It's not often I'd come to a town just to stay in the hotel, but, honestly, this place was just outstanding, and I would mark it down as a premium place to stay at affordable rates, when traveling in the Hood River area. I usually consider the Choice brand as more average, but this actually outclassed pricier places I've stayed. All the amenities are there (pool, fitness, business area, etc.), but for me it's pleasing to really be able to have a rest. So, comfy bed, big TV, excellent (free!) WiFi, light blocking drapes, amazing shower with terrific water pressure and lots of hot water, everything clean and working, quiet halls and friendly staff, all of this makes for a sanctuary. I felt rested and restored, and, in fact, wound up staying several extra days. I think, at mid range pricing, you are getting a well above average experience. The free breakfast is quite varied, although it's all a bit like cafeteria food, kind of standard at these free breakfast places. Even so, the food was fresh and filling, if not a culinary masterpiece and, free, so no complaints. A bit odd that the one sink was out in the room, so basic meal prep with the microwave and fridge use shared space with brushing teeth and shaving, but, again, minor issue, overall. Easy to locate and jump on and off the freeway. Kind, helpful staff, and just a very peaceful environment. I was impressed. I stay at a lot of various hotels, and this one stands out for the excellence. ...
