We had an issue with Kristi at the office. After having our room serviced by housekeeping, she called to inform us that we were being billed for replacing all of our linens. She said housekeeping had washed our items twice and would not come clean. We found this claim unbelievable, knowing the condition of the items before having the room serviced. Admittedly, there were purple marks on 2 towels, one pillowcase, and one bottom sheet from temporary hair coloring, and our pet had an accident that soiled a top sheet and a bottom sheet. We asked to see the damaged items, as she was claiming EVERYTHING from our room was damaged beyond usability (including items we didn't even use). We offered to rewash the items ourselves to see if they would come clean, or we needed to see the damages before paying for them. When I got to the office to see the items, she gave me a big trash bag containing all of our linens. I opened the bag to asses the condition, only to find everything in it's original unwashed state. When I saw this, I asked if these had in fact been washed twice, to which her response was that they had not been, but that both she and the head of housekeeping knew that they were unwashable, but we were welcome to try at our own expense, and she would not charge us for any items that came clean. She turned bright red having been caught in a lie and handed me her inventory of the items in the bag and did not want me to open the bag there in the office to verify because she and the head of housekeeping had verified and documented the contents. Having already been lied to, I was skeptical of her count, so the very first thing I did was to do my own count. Needless to say I was not surprised to find her count inaccurate. She had overcounted the bottom sheets (the most expensive item) and undercounted the pillowcases. After informing the office of the discrepancy, and confirming that we still had to wash the unsoiled items, we washed all of the items with bleach in the on-site laundry. Making sure that the soiled items were run as a separate load, all of the items came clean. Upon returning the clean items to her, Kristi checked each item and found small black dots (smaller than a pin head) on several items which she said she had no choice but to bill us for because we complained to corporate. So in the end the damage we were forced to pay for was not even the stains that were the cause for the initial...
Read moreYears ago I really liked Motel 6. The rooms were clean and modern, nice showers,tv,microwave etc and great price. Then I began to notice a change for the worse. The druggie scuz bag crowd began to move in. Every time I went to Motel 6 it was noisy late at night, there were losers hanging around the walkways smoking and in the parking lots playing music and playing with their dogs, usually pit bulls. I noticed the concrete walk ways looked dirty and stained and the rooms deteriorated. I noticed in some of the motels there was a parking space in front that said "reserved for law enforcement". Police regularly had to respond to Motel 6. I stopped staying at motel 6's for these reasons and felt disappointed Motel 6 had gone down like this. I recently took a risk and stayed at the Motel 6 in the Dalles Oregon and was pleasantly surprised! I can see you are taking action to keep the undesirables out. Great! The policy of a large cash deposit for local residents to stay there is good. You might even take that further banning local residents unless they can show a proof of an emergency like their house just burned down or increase the cash deposit to $1000 that will be held for 7 days after check out. Steps need to be taken to keep the local druggies OUT of Motel 6. I'm really happy to see this happening and will stay at Motel 6 now more often. I always drive though the parking lots now FIRST, look at the cars, see if people are hanging around in the parking lots or if the place looks dirty. I hope this effort is going nation wide and then Motel 6 will regain the nice reputation of a good motel to stay in like it once had. Oh, I also was told at a motel 6 about a year ago I had to pay extra for wi-fi. Thats bad. People dont like that and will go to another Motel that has free wi-fi. I prefer carpet floors rather than the cold hard wooden floors, but not a...
Read moreInitial stairwas fine, unfortunately I did leave an item in the room and need a ship back to me as I am not able to run back and pick it up. I am now several states away. Lolo at the front desk is extremely unhelpful and literally made up a policy on the spot to avoid actually doing work. He told me that he cannot take my package to the UPS store or another pack and ship and then I would have to have a package shipping provider bring a box get the item take it back and then ship it from there. I called literally every shipping company in the city that has an on-site person available to speak with. Only one of them was willing to do this and even they were very unsure that it could work due to insurance and chain of custody issues. They did say however that the normal operation for the hotel and this is motel six pacifically was that the motel 610 it would bring down the package to the shipping clerk they would physically place it in the box watch the address go on and then it would be shipped from there or while I was on the phone with a credit card to pay for the transaction. I do know it’s inconvenient however this would be the way that it’s done and Mollo just didn’t want to do anything. So I am going to leave a terrible review call the general manager as well as to file a complaint to the corporate site even though I know that’s the motel sixes are franchises. I will also be finally gonna complain with a better business bureau so beware if you stay here do not forget anything of value...
