Best place to stay in the woodlands. Hotels is clean, modern and the rooms are basically suites, each having a divided sitting area with a fold out sofa. The Hyatt place is the same price as the other "short stay" hotels in the area but is far superior to ALL others. I would even recommend this Hotel over the high end hotels in The Woodland, the rooms are far nicer, cleaner, newer, and larger than the $200 + per night hotels. All modern equipment including 46inch LED Tv's with full cable including DVR. Since I travel with my Apple TV, it's important that the TV's have HDMI connections which these do. I always judge a room based on two things, the bed and the bathroom. Hyatt Place has some of the cleanest and nicest walk in showers you would only expect in a high priced hotel; there are no tubs, but who takes a bath at a hotel? The king size bed was so comfortable I wanted the name so I could look into getting one. If you are looking for a high end hotel with a low end rate stay here.
I stayed there last weekend and will be going back again this upcoming weekend for business. I have placed a call in to the hotel to see if the would like to have me back at a "loyalty rate". I feel they go above and beyond in all other areas, why wouldn't they go above and beyond to earn my business two weekends in a row. I decided to put this in my review because I know they will and I think it speaks volumes about a hotel when they try to create Loyalty Members. I'll follow this review up if they do.
In short, if it's between a Comfort inn, Marriott, Hilton, Comfort Inn, or any "low budget" hotel, STAY HERE!!! even if it is 10 to 20 dollars more, STAY HERE!! You will see, feel, and smell the difference. Seriously every hotel I stay at in or around Houston has a mildew funk to it for some reason (guessing humidity?), Hyatt Place does not. Seriously, if you don't stay here you will remember this review and kick yourself because you chose poorly. If you stay here and hate it then you are strange and traveling maybe just isn't for you. Why are you still reading this, just book the room. OH... and standard checkout is 12:00 but they will go to 12:30 if you ask nice like. Noon checkout is worth it by itself.
I feel like I owned that review and to Hyatt Place... you are welcome. Please feel free to write a review of my review as I would like to know how I did...
Read moreI stayed at the Hyatt Place Houston The Woodlands on January 27th for a one night business trip. I got in late and got up early to discover my boots have been ruined due to the fridge leaking all over them over night. I talked to the front desk who asked for my name and phone number and said they would talk to the general manager and get back to me. The woman also gave me the business card of the manager to send a picture of the boots and the receipt. I sent the documentation as requested a few hours later along with pictures. The next day I heard back from Akber Kapasi, Assistant General Manager, asking me for a copy of the receipt from the purchase of my boots, which I had already provided. I sent another copy of the receipt (online receipt how everything is done now) and have asked for reimbursement. I have sent multiple emails and have left a voicemail but yet have not received a response back from the manager. I have also escalated to Hyatt's general customer service email address as provided in the survey email. They did reimburse me the room charge which is half the value of the shoes and also a company expense so doesn't get me any further in replacing my shoes.
The room was fine for the stay, clean other than the leaky fridge which I obviously didn't notice. Buffet breakfast is included with the stay and is your typical average hotel breakfast, not bad and not great.
I obviously like these boots very much and they are not your ordinary shoe! $438 boots ruined, I am not...
Read moreA false damage charge of $200 changed the whole experience for us. The general manager basically called me a liar when he said “it’s okay for you to say you didn’t smoke in the room.” When I don’t smoke at all, especially around a 7 year old child, and why would I get a non smoking room if I was going to break the rules and get charged a fine regardless? ||He showed a video of him “cleaning” the ash marks when none of the ashes stuck on to the napkin/cloth as it should have if it was freshly done from me. I told him I left that room at 10:20 to check out, he told me that housekeeping reported the “marks” before 11am. Those marks were already there and they’re using it to fine people who stay in that particular room. ||My kid remembers those marks and just stated it was a little dirty, but did not mention it to me. I have a video with luggage placed down already so I missed that area in my video feed. I had my hair straightener, phone/game chargers, and nothing to make little dark circles in the carpet because I don’t have time to sit on the floor and destroy people’s carpets for no reason. I don’t appreciate being falsely accused to damages that were not caused by me. We were respectful everywhere we went; from the elevator, to the pool patio, and the ballroom where our family reunion was held. We greeted all of housekeeping, and didn’t damage anything outside of our room from the breakfast bar to the lamps in the lobby. WHY WOULD I DECIDE TO BURN 4 CIRCULAR DOTS...
