Zalat Pizza — Restaurant in Shenandoah

A friend recommended this place. We ordered 2 pizzas, one cheese bread and the garlic bites app. With fees, tax, tip, $77.17. Ordered with their app, which showed the food ready and on the way to me fairly quickly. Great. Then Doordash sent me a text with a link to the driver's route. He was by the mall waiting somewhere else, but it said something to the effect that he was waiting to pick up my order...somewhere else. After about 10 minutes, he was on the way again, headed for Zalat. Picked up my order and headed down Research Forest. Then he turned off before my neighborhood...and sat somewhere for about 20 minutes. Then he headed to me. Food arrived slightly over an hour after it was ordered. According to Google maps, it's 7 minutes for the 3-mile drive from Zalat to my house. The food was room-temperature...all of it. The garlic bites app was a congealed mess. I know what fresh-baked bread tastes like, and the bread bites were (IMHO) were least 2 days old. Most of the supreme pizza's sausage bits were rolling around in the cardboard box because they had not stuck to the cheese, which was sparse. The perreroni pizza was ok after reheating in the oven..good, but nothing special. Overall very disappointed for $77. Maybe it would have been better without delivery. I should have taken photos, but after the hour wait, trying it cold, preheating the oven and reheating, we were hungry and...

My son’s and I wanted pizza but didn’t want the usual franchise locations. I searched online and found Zalat. The reviews were great so we decided to give it a try, and we are so glad we did! All three of us ordered there smallest sized pizzas to share among us. We also had the opportunity to try the wings. The pizza was AMAZING!! The wings are baked and they only do dry rubs, so to be honest I was a little hesitant but I thought why not, wow! The wings were DELICIOUS 😋🤤. We were so impressed. I’m happy to say I am glad I tried something new and we will definitely be back. Thanks Zalat for the great food and the service was great too. The gentleman took his time to explain all of the options. Oh and the sriracha and ranch sauce they provided with the pizza, 🔥! Honest subjective review and sorry it’s not good because it looks like a lot of people enjoy this place.. maybe my pizza was made differently but if what I got was normal, definitely not worth price paid. Almost $15 for a medium cheese pizza should be right up there with legit pizzerias. As soon as I opened the box I knew the reviews I read and pictures I saw overhyped the product. The dough wasn’t seasoned so the crust was terribly bland, there was barely any sauce or cheese which left about 1.5 inches of plain inedible crust, sauce was incredibly basic, dough was undercooked but still tasted burnt, if that’s even possible. I’ve had better Pizza! Pizza! for half the price. Wanted to try some of the signature flavors but won’t be paying over $20 for those when plain cheese was so...
