Well since my other review magically disappeared. The casino aspect itself is fine. Machines pay out like any other casino. The food is just okay and drinks are also just average.
The casino staff need a major refresher on customer service…. A handful of people have been neutral or pleasant to interact with. Some others such as the older security guard named Arthur. C. needs a reality check.
We had visited earlier in the day with family and others wanted to come back in the PM. My partner always carries a small over shoulder bag that can be zipped to wear like a pack. We have never once had an issue. The first visit on July4th they just asked to take a peek through the bag (this is the first time this has ever been done - so if this is policy, why is it so lax 99% of the time?) The first security guy was nice and didn’t feel the need to scream. He also never informed us back packs where not allowed in the casino.
In we come for our second visit and cue Arthur. C’s sparkling personality. As we casually walk in we hear here someone rudely yelling from behind us, my boyfriend is screamed at that backpacks aren’t allowed. This man then begins to go through the bag with a stick, hitting every electronic (like his $1500 iPhone) with out mercy and lacking the tact a security guard should have when handling others property. (Now to me it seemed this was done with malice) I see my partner being yelled at and a man showing no mercy to his belongings- not trying to escalate the situation. I crack a joke about having a million dollars in the bag. Before I could even finish the joke Arthur decides he should cut me off and then screams something like “I’m talking to him, not you” with just a hint of profanity. Now at this point of hostility towards two gay men, I’m leaning towards homophobia. If this is how Arthur. C handles a non-threatening situation, I would not trust him enough to believe he did not unnecessarily escalate any security occurrence.
Then maybe 30 min later we decided to leave (i won a few hundred and was just over the place at this point). On the way out and while gambling near the security podium I could overhear Arthur.C just degrading customers and calling the customers of Ballys “trash” in general statements made to his...
Read moreNot as bad as reviews make it seem like seem. The slots are brand new some of them don't have sound. Most of the games are good but missing some classics. I.e. walking dead, Buffalo grand, wizard of Oz. Other than that I had a great time and it was not that smokey.
**Update... I went back for the second time at a busier time. I did not do too well there playing slots. every casino pretty much is like this sometimes though. I won't judge upon that. Although I do understand all those frustrated with the machines having no sound. There was only one machine available of a game that I pretty much drove all the way there to play. I sat down and quickly realized that the audio for the machine was not playing, but when I click on the player's card the machine makes the sound. I hit the service button in very soon the woman came over. She said she would send someone over to fix it right away. About five minutes later a young man walked up and immediately said yeah the game has no sound. I said but it is making some sound when I hit the rewards button. He said yeah they have no sound there's nothing we can do. Keep in mind that this is a brand new casino with brand new machines?! I at least expected somebody to be able to fix the issue. A lot of other games I went to play had no sound as well. What is going on with this casino that they cannot fix these brand new machines. an older woman explained to us that she comes here almost every week and they have never fixed a machine that wasn't working. this seems like a problem that's going to plague this place if they don't get it under control. I will change my review to three stars because of poor maintenance of brand new machines.
Update #2
I still have been frequenting this casino at least twice a month. Most of the slots have been fixed which I can greatly appreciate. Although the machines are always full that I want to play this is true for almost every Casino. I just hope this place updatesmachines and won't have the same one for 30 years...
Read moreThis casino took so much money from me in the past 3 weeks, it will probably be another year before I can afford to go back there. Since they reopened after covid 19, the payouts on the slot machines are horrifying. I usually always play the maximum bet on a machine , typically $3.00 a shot, and win like $.50 the majority of times, and just forget about getting a bonus, but if you should get one, count on it being a very small amount, even worse when you bet the max. To sum up everything, keep you're money. Since reopening after covid 19, they want every cent that people are willing to give them, the machines couldn't be any tighter. The only people winning any money are the one's who drop thousands in there a month. The way I see it, is that they're trying to make up for lost time when they were closed for 4 months due to covid 19. I spoke to many people and they all agree. I'm sure they're not too pleased operating on half capacity either with every other seat being vacant, so we're paying to make up for the other half of vacant seats. One more thing, the less cars in the parking lot, the less guests inside, which means the tighter the machines, their not going to pay out very much if it's not busy. You will notice on a busy weekend evening that the slot machines are paying out a little better. I played at Newport Grand for many years, and then started going to Tiverton casino when they first opened, and they weren't too bad, but now I'm so done with that place. Not fair at all and you don't have a chance. There's been way too many people losing a lot of money there lately. Just take notice of the expressions on their faces when they're leaving. That says it all. I also asked many of the guests when they were leaving if they won anything, and many times over I get the same reply, ...
