Let me start off by saying Hubs and I don't normally stay in a B&B. However, I am SO HAPPY WE DID!!! We dont like shared spaces and like our privacy. We have rented several entire homes, but we decided to give this a try. We had excellent directions with all the information provided, and we found the wonderful inn parking. We decided that we should park at the church because the vehicle we were in was so large. We were kind of a miss as to where the entrance was, but I do think that was of my own accord and not anyone else's. ||The reason we were even in town is because my mother was lifeflighted to the local hospital. As we live 200+ miles away, this seems to be our best option. Honestly I was tired of making decisions and Landon made all of my decisions extremly easy so I really didn't have to put much thought into them, honestly I probably sounded like a nut case and Landon if you read this I'm sorry for that.||Ok, enough rambling, my honest thoughts.. If you dont stay here... You are going to regret it. After parking and finding our way into the correct back yard (sorry to the neighbors by the way) we were greeted by cute decoration and a wonderful garden and outdoor seating area with a mini outdoor fire pit! After taking a few steps, we were greeted at the door! After coming in, we were in a small but effective kitchen stocked with eggs, juice, milk, cereal, breads, bagels, etc... All of which we were told that we could help ourselves to. From the kitchen, we entered the coffee nook/bar area! With ALOT of options to make almost any kind of coffee/tea combo we could ever want. And a mini bar! (Honestly, I should have maybe asked if I could have a night cap). From there into the dining room, with enough seating for at least 8 if not more! And, a cute little half bath for the common area downstairs. From the dining room into the sitting/living room area. 2 very comfortable couches and a HUGE tv to watch whatever your heart desires. Up a few stairs (Lord help my knees.. lol), and we made it to our room.||We stayed in the King room. Wow. Just wow. Sitting table, a couple of chairs, a fireplace, a closet (with robes and games!), the most comfortable bed I had slept in since my own bed a week ago. Our room had an en suite bathroom with an amazing tub! (She is a bit slick, and I may or may not have a battle wound to prove it 😆😛)||All the cute touches and extra things were so thoughtful. ||If I am EVER in the Toledo area again, I will definitely be staying here from now on. Read moreThis is an airbnb type of place, with self check-in and some foods in the fridge. It wouldn't qualify as a bed and breakfast, since you don't meet the host and breakfast isn't made for you. The price was excessive for the experience, the 'work-in-progress' state of the house, and the location. There are B&B's that offer full service within a short drive for less. I get that the house is being renovated, and the formal rooms downstairs are looking good. But renovations are mostly a DIY affair, with a botched paintjob and cheap fixes in many places. The room had no desk, no glasses in the bathroom (easy fix by taking them from downstairs though), no tissue box, and a very thin door that separates you from the next room (you can hear these guests very clearly). The plus side was the good mattress, comforter, and excellent toiletry package. The cons are the price, location (historic district but lots of rundown houses and need to drive to food/anything), cheap and botched renovations (I'd be ok with its unfinished state if what was finished was better done). An extra cons (not the fault of the owner) was that other guests were rather unruly. Two young folks came back wasted; the staircase was striped of its formal carpet so it's down to bare wood and it makes a lot of noise, particularly when drunk people attempt to use it at night. The folks next door chatted or played TV all night, and I could hear it all. It looks like this location isn't attracting the best of folks at the moment, or...
Read moreWe stayed for our anniversary. We actually live in town, but wanted to do something special. I found The King's Throne completely by accident, but I'm so happy i did! Our host, Landon was a joy to work with and made our stay so very special and memorable, he definitely went above and beyond and exceeded all expectations! Landon is a breath of fresh air and is so gracious and caring and thoughtful, I literally fell in love with this wonderful human! We also enjoyed meeting Landon's partner, Chuma, and beautiful pupper, Luna, and learning a little bit about the history of the house, which is just beautiful!
Landon really thought of everything, he anticipates his guests' every need and allows full access to the first floor and kitchen which is stocked with a variety of breakfast items and coffees, even chilled champagne and OJ for Mimosas!
Booking and check in are seemless, Landon even sent step by step instructions with sequential pictures showing how to navigate the house in the event he can't greet you personally.
If you or someone you know is coming to the Toledo area, or even live here like us, and want a different experience than just a boring hotel, book a stay at The King's Throne, we think you'll love it!
Thank you Landon, Chuma, and Luna! Bev...
