I didn't want to write a review for this place. I want to keep it a total secret. It's not like it's the most fancy place, and certainly not the cheapest. What makes this place special is that it's sort of a hidden gem in a place you wouldn't expect it to be. The location cannot be beat. It's far enough, yet close enough from downtown to still be in the action. The rooms are decent enough, although I believe they are owned by individuals who rent them out, as my group had three rooms, all decorated totally different and in different states of modernization. However, this place has a killer deck in the back that faces Connecticut where you can see the inlet to the right and down to Gardiner's island to the left. If you're into watching sunsets with a drink in one hand and your mate in the other, this is the place to be. Our room was a loft room, meaning we had a kitchenette, a living area with a convertible couch, and an upstairs loft with a queen bed. The ONLY downside was that the air con wasn't powerful enough to keep the upstairs area as cool as the downstairs area. There was a portable fan in the closet that we used that worked out nicely. At night, things would cool down.||||The pool is salt water and refreshing. The staff is friendly. There are BBQ grills you can use out by the deck, just need your own supplies.||||Before this trip, i was sort of "done" with Montauk, having been there so many times. However, now that we've found such a GREAT place away from the hustle & bustle, with such nice people, Montauk has re-emerged as a place to continue to go to.||||Oh, and can't beat the...

Read moreThis motel is located right next to the water on the sound. If you opt for the water-side rooms, the views are calming. But many of the rooms just face the parking lots & the walls are very thin. I was in Room 100 which was clean, linens were soft & had a simple but comfortable set-up. This room is located directly next to the staff office so I could hear every phone call, every arriving car, every conversation happening at the vending machine. I had to keep the rooms blinds closed for privacy, but there were no curtains so the room was pitch dark, no way to enjoy the ocean breezes without also making eye contact with every person who walked past the building. Prices at this motel are a little cheaper than other places, but I'd recommend paying a little more for the ocean view rooms. But if you won't be spending much time indoors and are a heavy sleeper, this is a nice "discount" option.
Note: They are listed as having beach access, but there is not on-site beach access, the deck of the property overlooks the water but you still have to travel to get to a beach where you can go into the water.
Note: Though a small kitchen is in some rooms, the motel doesn't supply any bottled water or anything for tea/coffee/breakfast service. There is a coffee maker in the room, but bring your own grounds or walk 10mins to...
