When the best thing about a new, 5 star-rated sushi place on Montauk is the 2, new, inexperienced order-takers, you know there’s a problem.
Touting themselves as NYC sushi chefs with 20 years experience, sure made me want to go here and try it out. I was beyond underwhelmed.
The sushi was a step below average. Their citrusy fluke app sounded great, but was as plain and uninteresting as could be. Four, super-thin slices of fluke with lemon juice squeezed on it. What a joke.
Yellowtail priced very weirdly. I ordered 3 pieces and they tried to charge me 27 bucks. Cancelled that order.
Blue crab roll sounded yummy. 2.5/5 at best.
Only roll that tasted good/I enjoyed, was the salmon skin roll.
Maybe if they hadn’t hyped themself as nyc, 20 year sushi chefs, I wouldn’t have been so disappointed. Nah. It would've been disappointment anyway. I eat sushi in CT that destroys this place. Routinely.
A 4.9 google rating for this place is preposterous. 3.5 at best. Don't say I didn't warn you. This place should and could be so much better, but, it...
Read moreOk and easy sushi place in the area. I'm glad there is a Japanese restaurant that is not even in the town in this deep area. Quality is acceptable even price is kind of high but can't complain on a place that be in this far. Good thing about this place is the seats outside you can enjoy meal with your fur buddy. To order, you have to go inside and order the food then they will bring you your meal.
Rainbow Nanuto is good: it is a roll without rice (I love rice but I only want vegetables and fish this time)
Tuna Tartar: kind of fusion but it ok, a lot of mango. Spicy Tuna Roll and Spicy Salmon Roll: Regular Sashimi Deluxe: Chefs Choice 18pcs Assorted Sashimi. It was good I like salmon, octopus and tuna another fish has a bit smell so I'm kind of dissapointed. Sake is very expensive for the brand that you can buy in regular...
Read moreWhen looking for a casual lunch spot or takeout, my fiancé and I love visiting Seaside House Bar. The quality and consistency of the sushi is superb and the array of drinks (Sapporo being my favorite) complement the food well. Jun and his entire staff go above and beyond when it comes to food presentation and quality control, and have made the extra effort to get to know us as customers personally. We recently brought in some fresh bluefin tuna that we caught on our last fishing trip and the chefs at Seaside House Bar turned the fillets into a beautiful sushi platter that my entire family enjoyed. If you haven't yet been, I highly recommend you...
