The best Holiday Inn that I’ve ever been to. All the employees are friendly and helpful. They are helpful and take time to answer any questions we had and took care of everything we needed. Breakfast was fantastic. Hotel is kind of hidden from main road but the driveway to get there is right next to the 7-Eleven.
Newly renovated in May 2024. Love the modern decor and colour scheme.
Room and common areas were very clean. Bedding was nice. We arrived late last night and it was not an issue to get late check out of 1 pm at no extra cost. Dove brand soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion are available in the room. Very convenient to have microwave, fridge, Keurig machine, clothing iron and ironing board in room. Our room was facing parking lot. Nice blue feature wall with colourful window treatment made the room feel bigger and made it less noticeable that window was very small. Lots of updated lighting with built in USB plugs were in room along with lots of power outlets which is handy for families with many smartphones and tablets.
Very kid friendly. Lots of families booked this hotel.
Breakfast is from 6 am to 10 am. It includes hot egg white or regular omelettes, pork or turkey sausages, breakfast potatoes, toast, muffins, yogurt, hot cinnamon rolls, cereal, hot oatmeal, fresh apples / oranges and bananas, juice, milk, Greek yogurt, toast, fresh pancakes made using a machine as well as a lot of other items! Coffee or tea is available anytime during our stay in the common area.
Pool was empty so we had it all to ourselves after 12 pm. Lots of fresh towels available. Windows of pool area had great views of the trees and mountains which would be even more beautiful around fall time.
Lots of parking spots.
Short drive to Corning Museum of Glass and Market St. Watson Glen State Park is around half...
Read moreI've been an IHG member many years and I've stayed many different IHG hotels including Intercontinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn Express. I'm not a picky person and usually don't write a review. But staying at this Holiday Inn express was the worst experience I've ever had and I decided to write a review. The worst part was the water. Every time I turned on hot water, disgusting discolored (yellow or brown) water came out. I kept turning on hot water more than 10 minutes and waited until water turned out totally clear but it didn't work. Color of water eventually became light yellowish but it never turned out clear. My girlfriend and I was so tired because of long drive and tight schedule and we just took a shower with this yellowish water instead of making a compliant. But it was awkward because some greasy and slippery feel remained on the skin after taking a shower. We were not able to wash out this slippery and greasy feel even we repeated washing several times. It was a really unpleasant and disgusting experience. Additionally, the front desk staff did not recognize me as an IHG platinum member and did not ask whether I want bonus points or other amenities like water, snacks, and so on. Plus they gave me the room right in front of the elevator. Usually IHG hotels try to give an IHG member who holds higher that platinum class the farthest room from the elevator for better comfort. I made a reservation almost a month ago but the room I got was the closest room from the elevator and I had to suffer from a noise. Overall, I was extremely unsatisfied with Holiday Inn Express Corning-Painted Post and never want to stay at this...
Read moreMy family and I decided to take a tiny “vacation” 20 minutes away from home, so that we could have a change of routine and scenery and also so that the kids could swim in the indoor pool. Upon arriving, we immediately noticed the driveway to the parking lot was filled with potholes. Not a big deal just would prefer it to be maintained of course. We go in and we are greeted by a very friendly staff member and I regret not remembering her name but she was very pleasant and accommodating despite our hiccup in choice of rooms. We have an autistic child who was afraid of the stairs and elevator and so she easily moved our room but upstairs to the first floor so that we could get our son to feel comfortable going to his room. She was very helpful and I’m thankful for her. We get in the room and it’s very nice looking, a bit crammed but not a bad room. Clean and tidy, no complaints til my husband found a “blunt” cigar on the floor by one of the beds. Not a huge deal but still, I might have been upset if one of my kids found it first. We go to the pool and it was nice and warm, no complaints. The kids had a ton of fun. Sleeping was problem free, the beds were so comfortable it was lovely. Morningtime and we venture down for breakfast at around 9... and the pancake machine was out of batter and they said they wouldn’t refill it that late, which is fine. The sausage was pretty dry and I was a little surprised they didn’t offer waffles. Again, not deal breakers. Eating in the lobby was nice, it’s a beautiful area. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, my kids enjoyed it and were sad to leave. I think we will come back again, maybe a few times, for another...
