Spotlight of Corning — Local services in Town of Erwin

Concerned that multiple employees are (according to the owner) giving out incorrect information to customers and managements attempts to fix it boil down to "sorry about your luck, try again in a week". The theater was more than happy to take a customers money when they were purchasing gift cards. Yet when the cards were being redeemed not one but two different employees said "because the old owner is screwing over the new owner, the new owner said he wouldn't take any gift cards purchased before" and "hold onto them though because they might work something out". That doesn't sound like an issue with the machines not working to me. Where else would this information have come from? Why would multiple employees say the same thing? I have gone to this cinema for years, through multiple ownership transfers, with the sticky floors and bathrooms that were falling apart because the prices were affordable and the employees were professional. Now the inside is getting remodeled and the customers aren't a concern. My family was not the only one who left there angry that day. A family before us and a couple after us also left complaining loudly. I'm not sure what their concerns were but it doesn't speak kindly to what is happening in there. By no means am I trying to be negative, but in all honesty I had a Terrible experience! BUT stuck it out for my kids. For tickets with a family of 5, 1 pop corn & 5drinks was $75!. Over priced snacks was expected BUT in Room 7 the Glass was cracked and covered in smudges so it cause the Screen to have two spots with the light shinning through during the movie, Felt a cold breeze blowing straight on me wish no visible fans so not sure where it was coming from!! Even with a sweatshirt on, I can not believe how cold the entire building was including the bathroom!! Brrr! NO cup holders in seat's of course my son spilt his entire $5 drink. I’d give none if I could and still rate this place! To start, we walk into the theater and the chairs aren’t staggered at all so you can (maybe) see only half the screen. The solution? Move forward to a closer seat, obviously. So you do…just to find dead roaches and box elder bugs lined up by the front row! We asked for a refund and the manager gave the excuse of “they crawl in through the doors”. In the middle of winter?? We’re literally here for a valentines/anniversary movie date and last time I checked, bugs aren’t exactly swarming this time of year.
