Never again. It's a 0 star!!! We travel all over the world and love our stays. Skip this hotel. There is a lovely Comfort Inn just down the street where nice people work. My husband and I didn't even make it through the check in process before having to cancel the room. We booked and paid in full a month in advance no less. We had requested at the time of booking early check in and assured it was no issue. The day of our reservation we even called to verify and we're told a room would be ready & waiting by noon. We arrive and are rudely told there are no rooms available until 3 we explained the pre arrangement and we're told to just go wait at the Applebee's 2 miles away. No problem we do that. We were still trying to not let is spoil our plans at that point. Long story short we never get a call and now adyer 2:30 still no room. Then Wendy who had been trying to help and appeared caught off guard by her managers behavior, says our double bed will be ready in 15 min or so (our reservation was for king at 1pm moved up to noon), but, she tried to help and was polite. However, Christopher Cole should be fired. He was hostile and rude. He has zero customer service skills and escalated the situation beyond repair rather than simply apologize and do the right thing. If Laquinta believes this joker is management material you have bigger problems then your reviews. He just wanted to argue and act like a diva spoiled child. It was sad to watch a person in a management position who is supposed to be a professional conduct himself in such a manner. Even more childish he wrote on our refund receipt that it was our fault for the cancelation because we didnt want to wait lol imagine? I guess he needed to have the last word if only it were that simple. If he only knew the long term plans we actually had planned ahead for that he screwed up with his incompetence and pettyness. He is an embarrassment to wonderful Laquintas all over. The hotel looked fine to us except for his behavior and the construction, paving and closures but, upon walking out with other guest they told us to run it was in disrepair and dirty with bed bugs and they were leaving after calling his boss. I guess his exceptionally appalling attitude did us a favor. We booked down the street on the spot with zero issues. Don't waste your money or more importantly your time on this dump with zero customer service! We have also stayed at the Westchester Marriott and highly recommend. Happy and safe...
Read moreafter reading through the reviews I was not quite sure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. to me this is minimum 2.5 to 3 star hotel. everything was clean and appeared as though it was recently renovated. when I booked it was for an accessible room (that was all that was available at the time of booking). I called the night before to ask about switching to a non accessible room. the nice lady said no problem just ask when you check in. sure enough upon check in they switched me happily to a non accessible 2 queen bed room. it looks just like the pictures. the pool was nice although we did not swim. we did use the gym/weight room. it was small but you can get a decent workout if needed. they had free weights, 1 excersize bike, 2 treadmills, a stair thing and a machine in the corner with pulleys and weights. breakfast was ok. they did not have any meat options but they had cereal (rice krispies, Os, and fruit loops. they had bagels, toast, and muffins and hard boiled eggs. and make your own waffles. basically 2 waffle machines between which sat a dispenser and plastic cups for the waffle mix. you put the mix in the cup and pour it in the machine. very easy. also coffee, tea and hot chocolate. there was also a nice sitting area to eat breakfast. they had a small area next to the check in counter where they sold cold drinks (water, juice , gator/power ade) and some food items such as granola bars. you do have to take 2 elevators to get to the rooms. this is due to the layout of the hotel. from the lobby you take 1 elevator 1 floor (or you can walk up the steps). upon exiting the elevator straight in front of you are the meeting rooms. so you have to make a left out of the elevator then a right, go past the pool to the next elevator which takes you up to the rooms. if you park in the back of the hotel you only take 1 elevator to the rooms. this is a non smoking hotel and because of that people smoke outside by the back door of the hotel. so if you are on floor 1 you may get a mild smoky smell just by the doors. We were on 2 and there was no smoky smell. The only negative thing was (we stayed Fri to Sun) they did not make up our room on Sat. it was not a big deal though we had enough towels. also I did see the cleaning people in the hall a few rooms away Sat morning before we left for the day. I"m sure if I asked they would have cleaned our room. That said, I would definitely...
Read moreThought it was very strange how you have to drive around back to get easy access to the rooms. Never been to a hotel that’s set up like this one ever in my life. The girl at the desk acted miserable and without energy. After giving her my last name to check in, she tells me I don’t have a reservation for that day (I most certainly did and had the confirmation email right on my phone). She asked if it was under another name and I said maybe my manager at work. She then asked to see my ID (something she should’ve just did right from the start), then all of a sudden the reservation is in the system. After that, no apology for mistakenly telling me I have no reservation even though I gave her the correct last name. Just the same old flat miserable nonchalant attitude. Terrible customer service. Then the room was subpar. Tacky patchwork on the walls, scratched off paint in multiple spots. The shower head was not properly secured inside the wall (see pic). Stained couch, a piece of someone’s hair on the bathroom floor that I know is not mine. No sound barrier whatsoever between the walls. You could hear everything way too easily. The hallway definitely smelled like strong pot despite the fact that it’s a “100% smoke free” hotel. Clearly they aren’t actually enforcing that policy. The same boring breakfast everyday which consists of greasy soggy bacon, excessively greasy sausage patties that gave me an upset stomach and plain looking scrambled eggs that I didn’t even try eating. This is the strangest and overall worst hotel I’ve ever been to in my life. I’m absolutely perplexed by all the positive reviews here. Doesn’t seem like we stayed in the same hotel… The customer’s experience needs to be way...
