Five-Star Review | Greenville Arms 1889 Inn – Greenville, NY Stepping into Greenville Arms is like being transported to a simpler, more elegant time. Nestled in the heart of Greene County, this historic inn is a true treasure—graceful, serene, and brimming with old-world charm. From the moment you walk through the door, the warm scent of coffee and chocolate mingled with the comforting creak of century-old wood floors instantly sets the tone: you’re not just visiting, you’re escaping reality. This stunning Victorian inn offers much more than just a place to rest your head. It’s an experience, a curated collection of delights for the senses. Let’s start with the on-site café, which serves a thoughtfully crafted menu of espresso drinks including lattes, cortados, and a matcha that deserves its own round of applause. My matcha latte was perfectly balanced—earthy and creamy with just the right hint of sweetness. It was clear that every cup is made with care, and the quality of ingredients speaks for itself. And then… the chocolate boutique. Oh. My. Goodness. I genuinely bought one of every variety they offered—no exaggeration. Each handcrafted piece was a masterpiece of flavor. Rich ganaches, velvety caramels, and inventive infusions that never overpowered the pure chocolate. The craftsmanship and creativity were evident in every bite, and not a single piece disappointed. These are the kinds of confections you dream about long after the box is empty. But it doesn’t stop there. There’s also an adorable and well-stocked art shop on-site, featuring everything from canvases, brushes, and paints to locally made goods including small-batch apothecary items, raw honey, and maple syrup—all beautifully displayed and sourced from area artisans. It’s the kind of shop you could lose yourself in for an hour without even realizing it. The grounds are equally impressive—lush, manicured lawns, towering trees, and charming gardens that stretch out in every direction. It’s the perfect setting for a quiet morning stroll, a lazy afternoon of sketching or reading, or even a round of croquet on the lawn. There’s a calming energy to the entire property that invites you to linger. Greenville Arms is more than an inn—it’s a destination. Whether you’re a traveler, a local, an artist, a chocolate lover, or simply someone in search of peace and beauty, this place checks every box. Greenville Arms is hands down one of the best-kept secrets in the Catskills—and one I can’t wait to return to. “Food that feeds the soul, beauty that speaks volumes, and travel that tells a story always through the eyes of Italy Loves India.” — Alyson Savino IG: Alysonnyc212 #AlysonNYC212 #GreenvilleArms1889 #GreeneCountyNY #CatskillsRetreat #HiddenGemNY #UpstateNYGetaway #HistoricInns #BoutiqueInn #CafeVibes #MatchaLover #LatteArtDaily #CortadoTime #ArtisanChocolate #ChocolateLoversUnite #GourmetChocolate #SmallBatchSweets #LocalConfections #ArtistRetreat #ShopLocalNY #SupportLocalMakers #CreativeEscape #LushLandscapes #ScenicStay #CountryRetreat #RelaxAndRecharge #CroquetOnTheLawn #TravelUpstate #VintageVibes #EscapeToTheCatskills

After searching for hotels in the area, all the big corporate one’s were booked. I am SO HAPPY I found Greenville Arms. Such a hidden gem in the area. They had BEAUTIFUL rooms available that were reasonably priced, and this was the perfect location to stay at while visiting my daughter who lives locally. I will never stay anywhere but here again. The owner was beyond accommodating and let me check in early to get settled and changed after a long drive. The room was lovely and had the most comfortable bed, pillows and blankets. The room was spotless and smelled fresh and clean. My room was right on the end of the carriage house so I had a great view and cool breeze flowing in. The mini fridge came in handy to store the complimentary waters and keep my leftovers fresh for dinner that night. I wish I could have stayed longer to try the fudge I heard so much about from the locals. As a woman traveling alone, I sometimes get weary of staying at hotels. I felt 100000% safe and comfortable at the Greenville Arms. Don’t hesitate to stay here! You won’t be disappointed!! Next time I’m bringing my dog and staying in one of the cottages. THANK YOU to the wonderful staff and owners at Greenville Arms! You have a new loyal...

I work in healthcare and have had a horrific year due to COVID. My wife and I have not connected the way we want to due to long hours at work and home. I love the Catskills because if it’s summer activities and wanted to go for a quite weekend with my wife and I and loved every minute of it. The staff are super friendly and the environment is exactly what we needed to connect and love each other. There’s a great restaurant a few doors down that is a must when passing this area, The Tasting Lab. Breakfast in the morning was amazing!!!! The Inn also has an Art program that I will definitely go to with my wife to de-stress. We also went to Hudson to go Antique shopping and had a blast which is only 24 min. Away. This is a must for all seasons especially when we are rid of COVID. I am set with this place and no need to look anymore. If you are looking for a place to relax, love, enjoy and eat this is the getaway. Thanks for making this weekend...
