An Upstate Gem: Tommy’s Hot Dog Stand in Greenville, NY If you’re passing through the charming hamlet of Greenville, NY and you don’t stop at Tommy’s Hot Dog Stand, you’re doing life wrong. This family-owned and operated Hot Dog truck is proof that sometimes the very best meals come served out of a simple food truck—with a side of genuine hospitality. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a line of fellow hungry customers, which at first glance made me think, Oh boy, this might take a while. But any worry of a long wait quickly vanished thanks to the two young women running the truck like seasoned pros. Each person who approached was met with warm smiles, cheerful greetings, and an immediate, “We’ll be right with you!” Honestly, it was like being welcomed into someone’s backyard barbecue — except these two ladies could probably run a Michelin-starred drive-thru if they wanted to. When it was my turn to order, I did what any responsible food reviewer would do — I asked a million questions. From ingredients to preparation, these ladies knew their menu inside and out, answering everything with patience, knowledge, and even a few laughs. Customer service like this is rare these days — they turned what could have been a simple food truck visit into an experience. Now, let’s talk about the food — specifically, the Philly cheesesteak. I have sampled many versions of this East Coast classic, and let me say without hesitation: this was the best Philly cheesesteak I’ve had north of Philadelphia itself. The meat was thinly sliced, tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The cheese was perfectly portioned — not drowned, not dry — just enough to create that glorious melty marriage with the steak. And the roll? A masterpiece of bread engineering: slightly crisp on the outside, fluffy and warm inside, holding everything together without falling apart. I honestly considered ordering a second one on the spot—but thought it best to leave myself a reason to come back (and trust me, I will). While the name says “Hot Dog Stand,” don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s just your average roadside truck. This is a full-on flavor destination. The line moves quickly, the staff treats you like family, and the food delivers far beyond expectations. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — Tommy’s Hot Dog Stand is a small-town treasure with big-time taste. Worth every bite, every minute of the wait, and every future visit I’m already planning. “Food that feeds the soul, beauty that speaks volumes, and travel that tells a story always through the eyes of Italy Loves India.” — Alyson Savino IG: Alysonnyc212 #TommysHotDogStand #GreenvilleNYEats #UpstateNYFoodie #HiddenGemEats #FoodTruckHeaven #HotDogLovers #BestCheesesteakEver #UpstateEats #FoodTruckLife #SmallTownBigTaste

Excellent stop! The Matt Dog is just the perfect combo - spicy brown mustard, sauerkraut, grilled onions and peppers? What’s not to love. Reasonably priced too. Place opened in 1969 and I’m not surprised they are still around. Totally worth a stop.

Cannot speak for the hot dogs, but I ate a cheeseburger from here and it was sub-par. Fries lacked crispiness and I would even go as far as to call them soggy. The cook on duty was very polite and friendly. I would give this place another go to try the hot dog, which is what it is actually known for. But I strongly recommend that you get your burger and fries elsewhere. McDonald's, no joke, does both better. I think the locals have a lot of nostalgia for this place, and there are not many fast food options in Greenville. I would give it 2 stars for the food I ate, but will give their other food a chance to...

I went to Tommy's hot dog standing in Greenville NY on 8th of August. We got 4 hot dogs with onions, peppers and mustard and 1 cheeseburger and FF. The Hot dogs were horrible they had no flavor and were of poor quality. The person working that day told me that they were the same brand from when Matt Dog owned the truck many years ago which was obviously not true. Word to the public that see this review DON'T GO TO TOMMYS HOT DOG STAND YOU WILL NOT BE SATISFIED WITH THE FOOD AND SPEND $3.50 A PIECE FOR EA HOT DOG. Save your money for a better choice of...
