OMG! I almost don't want to post this review for fear you will take my next reservation for The Tree Top Suite - AWESOME!! The suite is very private with own entrance and immaculately clean - everything you could need for your stay is up there somewhere! I stayed here with my husband and teenage daughter to do CIA dining and history exploring in the area - FDR, Vanderbilt, Rhinebeck Air Dome - fantastic - Hudson River cruise - just stayed for 4 nights - AB FAB! Valarie the Chef Extraordinaire and wonderful hostess makes you the most delicious healthy and locally sourced breakfasts with their own recipes - OUTSTANDING! You are so close to all of the great attractions in the area, but you feel like you are the only ones in this suite that is beautifully situated in the woods - Valarie and her husband have lived in this area for many years, and both have taken classes at the CIA, and it shows! Your loss if you don't book this suite - and there is another one on the main level that is very private too - you have a choice of 2 "breakfast" seatings - 8 am or 9 am - and "breakfast" is an understatement - you will not be disappointed! But please note, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE HOME HER UNBELIEVABLE HOMEMADE JAMS! Cherry was the one during this stay that was being made when we checked in - to die for! But as Valarie will tell you - why would I ship you my jams? I want you to come back! And come back you will people! Just don't book the suite the same week I want it - ha! Spectacular and such warm and loving hosts! We stayed July 22 - 26, 2019 and it was the most relaxing time we have had in a long time!...
Read moreI recently stayed at Inn the Woods Bed & Breakfast while visiting my son at school. To say my stay there was a pleasure does not do this bed & breakfast justice. They were incredibly accommodating with not only my late arrival, but also with my son occasionally staying with me and filling my friend’s spot at the breakfast table. There was an ample supply of bottled water in the fridge which was great considering how hot it was the whole week. The Inn is also close to everything in Hyde Park and just a 10-15 minute drive from Poughkeepsie.
Now let me get to the breakfasts…Harry outdoes himself with breakfast every morning. Each morning I was greeted with a homemade muffin and scone, a bowl of fresh fruit, and then a main breakfast dish all while doing a bit of bird watching. Harry makes everything on the plate from scratch and I never left hungry. In fact, I was usually full for most of the day. I’m already missing the breakfast, and I’ve only been home for a few days. I look forward to staying there again the next time I come up to...
Read moreThe Inn was really in the woods! We were just minutes from the center of the town and the highway which took us to all the places we wanted to go in minutes. The Culinary Institute, the walkway over the Hudson, the Roosevelt library and other historical sites. It was near hiking trails but unfortunately the weather prevented us from hiking. The place itself is spotless and very well equipped with anything you would need for a comfortable stay. There's a little kitchen area with coffee pot, tea pot, microwave, dishes, etc. The bathroom was very nice, the bed was comfy, and there's a couch and a table to sit at. There are large windows and we were on the second floor and felt like we were in a treehouse. There's a balcony you can sit on. Harry made a wonderful breakfast with a bowl of berries, fresh muffin and a scone, an omelet, toast, and a roasted tomato as well as coffee and juice. Harry was very helpful and concerned for our comfort. We would definitely stay there again if we ever return...
