This place is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I’ve been to this location two other times before this time and it’s gone down hill tremendously. I had a very long day at work and didn’t feel like cooking so I ordered two orders of tacos, which had literally no cilantro or onion just meat. Not only that it looked like either it was thrown in the container or it was someone else left overs. NO RICE. Sweet plantains were BLACK. Our nachos with beef and toppings had about 5 chips I kid you not. I also got 2 margaritas to go and they were straight lime juice it was burning my stomach. I should of known it was gonna be horrible because the bartender kept asking in Spanish how to make the margarita as if I didn’t understand her. We remade our $26 drinks at home. I called to ask for a refund because I drove 20 mins from pleasant valley after a double shift I was not coming back out. They offered me a free dessert for the next time I come back??? I spent $80 and TIPPED 25% as if I sat in the restaurant!!! I DONT PLAN ON COMING BACK. I ask to speak to the manager “Victoria” and they give me HER CELL PHONE NUMBER!!! how unprofessional, I’m not calling someone cellphone at 9pm bothering them with a job they’re not even at! I called for 4 days after this night and they kept telling me she’s not there so I got tired of playing games with them. I will never come here again. Poughkeepsie el guacamole is...

The menu is packed full of delicious plates. The servings are large and group friendly. My personal favorites are the queso fundido, black bean soup, El guacamole salad, and their mango margarita. 🥭
There is mostly booth seating along with a few tables and chairs at the front of the restaurant. Restaurant is always clean. Wait staff is always checking in and taking orders in a timely manner. You're served tortilla chips with 2 types of salsas to start. It does not take long for you to get the food to your table.
This restaurant is easy to get in and out of with a stroller, I could see a wheel chair being just as simple. If my memory serves me correctly, they have outside seating in the warmer months as well.
This restaurant is vegetarian friendly. Vegan might be harder, but I do think it's do able.
Pricing. The fact that a couple can get chips, 2 dips, queso, soup, 2 meals, 2 drinks for $60 after tips/tax- for this amount of freshly made food- to me seems like a...
Read moreThe minute they bring out the fresh, crisp, salty tortilla chips with two kinds of mouthwatering salsa, you know you are in for something special. I'm incredibly partial to the fresh soups, especially the chicken tortilla soup, and their shrimp tacos, but when I'm in the mood for some veggies, I order the veggie sampler and tuck into the fried plantains. Chicken and beef tacos are both on point, and their grilled tilapia plate gives me all the flavor I want while being a lighter offering.
I live in the area and make a trip to El Guacamole at least twice a month, more if I start craving something in particular (especially the cactus salsa...). I enjoy dining in, because everyone is so friendly and the service is attentive. However, they are also on point when getting take-out as well -- I usually order ahead, but I find that even when I just pop in, I get my food prepared quickly and the staff is...
