Very good stay - an older building, with charms and some minor shortcomings that go with the territory. We were in the Beede Suite, which has a curious entrance into the main part of the lodge, as well as a separate entrance from the outside. One problem for a light sleeper (me, not my partner): I was awoken one night by voices of people arriving late downstairs, since the floor is lightly sound-insulated. But excellent mattress (we both thought) and king size bed (wow) meant I got back to sleep quickly.
It was great to have George on hand in the morning - from whom we got very good suggestions and information on trails nearby (we climbed Hopkins, as a loop on foot from the lodge, and the next day Jay Mountain - both moderate, not "easy" hikes). Hearty buffet breakfasts, good hot water, pleasant front living rooms, convenient communal kitchen (although our suite also had partial kitchen), and helpful assistance for a couple of requests we...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of staying at Keene Valley Lodge for a friend's wedding wEekend and it was a great experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure every need was met. The breakfast was wonderful with a variety of options, all made with fresh ingredients. The lodge's access to a waterside dock was another great feature. Enjoying our morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening by the water was incredibly relaxing and picturesque. We stayed in the Notman Suite which was extremely roomy with its own kitchen and living areas and a picture window overlooking the garden and deer grazing in the morning. Additionally, the lodge is conveniently located within walking distance to all the town's amenities. Exploring the local area was easy and enjoyable. Overall, Keene Valley Lodge offers a perfect blend of comfort, excellent service, and beautiful surroundings. I highly recommend it and look forward to...
Read moreI’ve been coming every year for well over a decade and it is still my favorite place to stay anywhere. Comfortable, warm, and inviting for all. My hiking family and friends come every year and we usually stay at both the Phelps Cottage and the Lodge (Beede Suite this year). They have the same wonderful ambiance of being at home with a real Adirondack feel. My wife was able to come for the first time in many years and was amazed by the upgrades! Map room is so awesome. The flowers and grounds are more beautiful than ever. At the Lodge, the huge fireplace and adjoining room and porch all foster game-playing and hanging out for making great memories and meeting new people who love the area too. George and Lori have created the perfect atmosphere of joyful embrace of the Adirondack vibe – not fussy at all. And thank you Carrie for calling us before we came in and making us all feel so welcome! We’ll see...
