The Birch Store is The Best Store! What a lovely surprise this shop was when I visited one recent raining day. The merchandise is of the highest quality, from beautiful kitchen and home accents to clothing to books, and an assortment of other items that make that perfect gift you forgot you needed until you saw it displayed so beautifully in The Birch Store. I've visited or lived in Keene Valley since 1980, but this was my first visit to this shop. I had always assumed prices would be too high for my budget. Not so. So rude ! The elderly worker, owner?, told my mom she'd hold a basket for her at the front My mother kindly told her she wasn't sure if she was buying it yet, so she'll hold it for a moment. I’ve known this store since I was a little girl, visiting Keene Valley in the summertime with my family. The original owner, Helen Coughlin, sold it shortly before she died (I can’t remember the year), and she would be thrilled if she could see the store today.
