I met with Glenda and she was a gracious host - inviting us to her lovely B&B. While I didn't stay overnight, I was able to tour the entire building from bottom to top (I'm a huge history buff!). It felt like stepping back in time and you can just visualize the people (and previous owners) who stepped through. The basement, I expected to be dark and dank - was gorgeous! There's two wine cellars/rooms, a workout room. There's actually a hidden tunnel, used perhaps from the Underground Railroad days? The first floor parlor, library and dining room were charming and cozy. The furnishings, wallpaper - all have stories to tell. The second floor rooms are beautiful, clean, spacious and pretty. All the bathrooms are well-kept and spotless. One room has a full jacuzzi tub! The hallway there has amenities I didn't expect to see but thoughtful touches (water, etc.). The third floor is a private suite of rooms (perfect for a family of 4), its own bathroom and there is access to a widow's walk, which provides a bird's eye view in all directions.
While it retains its historical charm, it is not creepy by any means - and the innkeepers really do keep this place up well.
I do hope to stay here...
Read morehad a fantastic weekend stay at the Allegiance, it was everything we hoped for and more. Beutifuly kept and a lot of history. The wife and i travel the great lakes region on any number of weekend adventures and this time we decided to check out Lechworth Park. We prefer old Victorian B&B's and the like and the Allegiance really came through for us. Great place to stay and the breakfast was fantastic. We loved sitting on the huge front porch having a glass of wine after a day in the park. Couple things to not mis in the area, the National War Plane museum a few miles away and Questa for dinner. Great food and service at Questa we went both nights. just a short walk (they prefer reservations but is still a casual place with casual attire ok) I would also like to thank the owner of Allegiance for sell my wife the stuffed bear that was in our room. It was exactly like the one I had as a kid and was really cute to have him back (lol his name is Hamms). our home base is actually only about five hours away s you will see us again, looking at some of the events at the plane museum in the future. Thanks again for giving us...
Read moreWhat a beautiful Bed and Breakfast. Right in the heart of Mount Morris this sits on the main road. We booked a 2 night stay here. So far it's very quiet and lovely. The owners reside in the rear portion of the house . The only time I have seen them was when we checked in. If assistance is needed they have a door bell you can ring on the door leading to the back. As you can see from the pictures this is very lovely and cozy. Very clean, smoke and pet free. We are staying in the Dansville room (each room has a name) that has the king size bed. Every room has its own bathroom attached. We are looking forward to the home cooked breakfast that the owners will be serving in the morning. Quite, clean, beautiful and...
