The blue rose bed-and-breakfast owners Michelle and David have really outdone themselves with this beautifully restored home. The attention to detail has been carefully curated, thoughtful, and put together with lots of love.
We chose to stay in the blue rose suite which was exceptional! It comes with the sitting room attached to the bedroom, with a huge bathroom containing a Jacuzzi tub shower sink and toilet. I couldn’t believe the size of the suit!
Michelle went above and beyond by setting up a mini fridge for all guests, along with coffee and light snacks. Knowing that I I am gluten intolerant she went to the local bakery to be sure that I had sweet treats left for me each morning.
Breakfast is included with your stay and we were served four course meals every morning lovingly prepared by Michelle and David. Our coffee was served in beautiful China cups, the table beautifully set For us each morning with a menu to die for! Michelle made us for the first course baked pears, delicious fruit dish, homemade eggs Benedict with muffins to take with us on our journey to Letchworth State Park.
One of my favorite parts of the blue rose is the front porch where you can take a book and relax as you overlook the beautifully tended garden.
There’s lots to do in the small town if you are an explorer and architect lover. Michelle has Brochures for local wineries, restaurants, boating, whitewater rafting, balloon rides, antiquing and local architectural walks through the town where you get to see firsthand the variety of homes built in the mid-1800s to the early 1900s.
We discovered a delicious restaurant at our hosts referral and we loved how close the rose is to Letchworth State Park. When we return each day from our hikes, there was always a homemade snack waiting for us!
Our stay was very peaceful and felt like all of our needs are taken care of without feeling like our hosts we’re constantly checking in.
This has definitely been one of our favorite places and we will be back with friends and family. I almost don’t wanna share How much we loved it because then we will never be able to book a room due to overwhelming popularity!!
We cannot thank Michelle and David enough for making our stay so incredibly magical. We...
Read moreMy husband and I spent two nights at the Blue Rose during a Finger Lakes hiking trip. Michele and David have taken great care over the past decade to restore this Victorian home to its former glory while providing modern-day amenities (heated towel rack!). The hallway outside our room housed a mini-fridge we used to store our hiking snacks, and Michele made wonderful chocolate brownies for us on our first afternoon. The sheets and 100% Egyptian cotton towels were the softest I've ever felt. Michele really focuses on the details, such as fresh flowers on the table, Victorian-style wallpaper and lace, artfully presented creative breakfasts (e.g., eggs Florentine, a "banana split" fruit dish with yogurt, pumpkin spice baked oatmeal), and even a tiny teapot-shaped serving dish for lemon wedges. The yard was beautifully landscaped - lots of flowers and the hugest beech tree we've ever seen! The house is right in town, within walking distance of the small downtown area of Morris. We chose the B&B for its proximity to Letchworth State Park, and we were glad we did! Michele and David are gracious hosts (they even let us store our ice packs in their freezer) and we enjoyed our stay. We would definitely...
Read moreYo will never have better hosts than Michelle and David. For example, when we had leftovers from our dinner out the night before, they set a table for us with good china, warmed up the food, and spent the entire rest of the evening chatting with us. It's a really cute Victorian restoration. Our room, the Fleur de Lis, was quite pretty. The decor is packed in, which cuts down somewhat on storage in this, one of the smaller rooms, but there are a couple of empty drawers and TV tray to use. like many restorations, the bathroom has a pedestal sink, which doesn't provide space for your toiletries, and the toilet tank and shelf are taken up by inn provided items. A place for guest toiletries would be useful. Likewise, it's nice that there is an outlet provided by one side of the bed. Electrical outlets are scarce in these old houses. In fact, they tell me this was first house in town to get electricity. A power strip on the other side of the bed would let both spouses have a place to plug in their phones next to the bed. If you want more space, stay in the suite, which is huge and quite beautiful. Mount Morris had a lot more interesting things to do in the area than I realized. Highly...
