I set reservations for 6: 30 for 3 people then I called back and set reset the reservations for 7:00 for 5. when we got there they set us off into the side room table was set for us but we did not see a server for about 15-20 minutes then we didn't get our Waters or drinks for awhile. We finally decided what we wanted to eat after about 5 minutes will make it 10 and then I'd say about 20 minutes later they took our order and my mom ordered the special my friends ordered the chicken alfredo lasagna and my girlfriend and I ordered the beef lasagna told us we are out of both beef lasagna and the chicken alfredo lasagna which is very disappointing when your name is Questa lasagna I had my heart set on lasagna do to people talking about it and when I get there I had to settle for spaghetti cuz I don't eat veggie lasagna or seafood lasagna and my girlfriend had to settle for seafood lasagna and my friends took the special. Bread Service I'm not sure if it's supposed to be served cold or serve warm but ours came out cold the meatballs could have had more flavor and better texture the pasta was nice and the sauce they could use a little bit more sugar to cut down on the acidity. we ordered the lemon cake for dessert and needless to say the cake would taste much better without the lemon sauce that they put on there it's just too Tangy to sour. I would put our experience as not a great one they were completely understaffed I know are server tried but she definitely needed help the food was okay at best specially since you ran out of two of the four lasagnas they have on the menu. There really should be no excuse on you to run out of two of your main meals especially since they're not specialty I they're your main menu meal I work in the business I understand things can happen but have two of your main course gone that is a lack of attention to on hand and whats need for the day. Still if your getting low you should have the stuff readily available to start the process of making a new one as long as we waited for her meal there's no reason why they couldn't have made another lasagna in that amount of time I was disappointed after all the hype up from my friend who said it is a great place to go and I've heard several people say it was a nice place to go even when we walked in someone who knew my mom said there food is good. so to hear all the hype and to get none of the goods was very disappointing and it's going to take me awhile to want to come back because I'm afraid to go and then be out of...
Read moreI will start with the positive because the food was great, in particular the hand made pasta with meatballs that are clearly home made and meaty where many I have had are soft from too much breadcrumbs and filler. Wine is reasonably priced with a decent selection as well as a good selection of local and craft beers. Unfortunately service on this particular evening was very slow, with it taking 12 minutes (we were going to walk out by 15) to get any service at all, and that was from what appeared to be the busboy who we coerced into placing a drink order even though he clearly was not in the know of such things. While it worked out well for my husband and I, I was very distracted by others around us who were sitting before us, and well after us before getting any service. It appeared that they were understaffed for the evening so I might chalk this up to not being the norm. Aside from that, once things settled our server was lovely and attentive, as was the other server we saw at other tables so in the end we had a great experience, and we have leftovers for tomorrow. (Complaints about serving size? I suppose that is all relative to what your perception is of a healthy meal and an appropriate portion size, but both myself and my husband had leftovers so no...
Read moreVery disappointed with this nicely-appointed restaurant whose garlicky aroma wafts through the air outside! A recent luncheon there was a big disappointment as well as a surprise, given the positive reviews herein. This super-garlic-scented establishment gave me a shrimp scampi dish that was not only tasteless and garlic-less but made with an overly-cloying butter sauce that was really just melted butter. It was served on a (light-weight) angel-hair pasta,; the five jumbo shrimp had been grilled, and served tails-on! Hence the shrimp was very hard, and tough and hardly savory at all. Shrimp for scampi entree should be sauteed so that it is soft in its bed of mostly garlic-oil sauce, not all butter.! That cook needs remedial Cooking 101! BTW: their 'insalata" was served on a saucer; tasty but skimpy and on much too small a dish. Their iced tea was very old; four sweeteners failed to sweeten. Never...
