A Room at the Beach — Hotel in Town of Southampton

We had our wedding ceremony at A Room at The Beach. This is a great place if you are self planners or if you want to coordinate with other vendors. The perfect micro wedding venue! We rented the entire place to accommodate close friends and family for a wedding weekend in October. Lucy and Charles were so great to work with, professional and eager to make our vision a reality. Their staff helped us set up decorations, provided breakfast to our guests and made sure our post-ceremony lunch was a success.This incredibly beautiful property features a unique tree line which made a perfect canopy for our ceremony and lunch. The long porch is lush and luxurious with flowers and chic patio furniture, lined with tiki torches and candles at night. Each room has a small backyard as well. The property has a very spacious lawn which allowed the little ones to run around and take a dip in the pool. The cherry on top was the fire pit which became a gathering place after hours. We made it complete with s'mores and bourbon! Everyone was comfortable and our families and friends were able to meet and talk in a relaxed setting. The Coastal Suite provided a perfect bridal suite with generous space to prepare for our big day and a great common room in the after hours. We stayed an extra night to really enjoy the hotel after our guests had gone. The Coastal Suite features a large bathroom with a rain shower and spa tub. The sauna at the end of the property was super relaxing after a wonderful, but high energy weekend. Room size is sorely deficient. No place to put toiletries except on chest of drawers. Lamps on night tables were unplugged when we arrived. We plugged in and did not work. Night stand had to be used for everything. Too cramped. Coffee made by proprietor sucked but Nespresso machine in room was adequate. Rear area garden was overgrown so we could not sit in hairs without a pruning sheers to cut branches. Really deceptive advertisement for space. Really small area. Bed was good. Location good but $800 for room a night was not right when place was so small. When I asked for larger room Room size is not mentioned in website. AC blows directly on person closest to unit over window. When I asked for extra towels I had to go to “staff person” who gave to me but next day they removed the extra towels And did not replace. Breakfast was some ok muffins etc. You can hear next door guest having sex. Overall poor value but maybe that is Hamptons overpriced typical ripoff! Other than light switches. It working properly (switched plugs not indicated and staff did not plug in lamps so who the hell would know which outlet to plug into. Need I say more. When our friends asked where we were staying we had a good laugh because they knew how small the place was with no room to sit, drink coffee or eat the ok but not great muffins they gave us for breakfast. I’ve been traveling my entire adult life. From hostels to high rises and everything in between. My experience at ARATB was bar none the best hospitality I’ve ever received. They accommodated some last minute travel conflicts and helped me make it to my friend wedding in the nick of time! The rooms are perfectly decorated to feel unique and cozy but not overdone. The floor plan is extremely clever because they utilize a slat wall to separate the bathroom area from the room, with the tv mounted flush. This design eliminates wasted space and creates a circular flow to the room which made it feel much more spacious. The rules were lax, in that they let adults be adults as long as they act like adults. The staff was attentive and the amenities in my room were luxurious and some were even complimentary. It’s easy to get to the Main Street in town and central to all the best beaches. Great for instagram photos too! Definitely enjoy a stay here and you won’t be disappointed.
