I travel often for work, so I have adopted certain habits. My first order of business is check for bedbugs. As I checked my bed at the Wingate, I was pleased to see no evidence of bugs! I unpacked some items and then pulled down the blankets. Much to my dismay, there seemed to be something on the sheets. Upon further inspections, the sheets were in fact clean, but the mattress cover was disgusting! I called down to the front desk and explained my discovery of a very stained and off putting mattress cover. When I asked for it to be replaced the woman at the front desk said, "What do you mean?" When I explained that the cover may be clean, it was covered in disgusting stains that she did not want this guest or other guests to see, she put me on hold. When she came back she told me the cover could not be replaced and that I would have to come down and get a new room. I asked if I would be on the same floor because if I was, I would prefer to not lug all of my items to the lobby just to have to take them all back up the elevator. The woman then sighed again and told me she would have to transfer me to the phone near her computer and again put me on hold. When she came back on the line, she told me I would stay on the 3rd floor and that I should come down for my new keys. When I got to the lobby, another woman, who appeared to be a manager, said, "So what's going on up there?" So far neither the desk clerk nor the manager apologized for anything. I suggested she would want to send a staff person to the room to see for themselves. I was given my new keys and the maintenance man joined me in my elevator ride. The entire ride he told me he did not understand what I could be talking about. He assured me everything had just been replaced and brand new. I told him I too didn't know what had gone on, but it was surely disgusting and not something any guest should be exposed to. When we got into the room he saw what is pictured below and said, "Oh honey, I am so sorry, this is disgusting." Finally, I got an apology. I packed up my things and moved down the hall to my new room. What happened when I got there you ask? The new keys did not work. So, after all of that, I had to lug all of my belongings down the lobby anyway. The same woman at the desk now asked what I was back for and when I told her the keys didn't work, she said, "You know some handles go up, others go down, did you try to jiggle the door?" When I responded by asking her what I should do when the light didn't even come on when I inserted the key she reprogrammed them for me and said, "Wow, you really are having a heck of a time here today." My new room had 2 beds instead of 1 but both were clean, so, I considered this a small victory. I chose to ignore the unpleasant odor in the bathroom because I was not sure I could have another conversation where I was questioned or practically blamed for the unfortunate discovery. Customer service was surely lacking through this entire scenario. I was disappointed in the lack of professionalism of the manager and the desk clerk. I think I will be doing a 300 mile travel day instead of staying here again for work.

Really had no expectations for this trip or stay except to spend time with family. We checked in with ease . The roadway into the hotel could use some work and they definitely need some lighting to help see the road and the 2 massive bumps if your checking in at night. We called prior to booking to ensure the pool was working and that there was no issue with pets. We were assured both were not an issue but if we stay again to know they are changing to NO PETS very soon. During this phone call they made NO mention that the hotel is under Renovations! So Beware when booking now . So check in went smoothly all seemed nice place was clean . You could hear and see renovations being done and i asked where the pool was and thats when we were told its closed . Annoyed we stayed anyway as we just drove 6 hours and it was closest to our family. We dropped our bags and we left for majority or day and evening and returned exhausted at 7:30pm on a Thursday evening. There was still renovations being done at that hour I called the desk an they assured me that they would be done at 8pm. They were literally laying carpet or flooring directly above us until 10:00pm at which time the wrestling team that was checking in next door to us returned. It sounded as if they were having wrestling matches in the room against the wall that our bed was up against until 1:00 am. I called the front desk NO answer so we knocked on the door ourselves to address the noise. The next morning when my husband tried speaking to the desk clerk (younger girl) about it my husband was advised well u can stay somewhere else ..... Only later in the day when I seen and spoke to what seemed like the adult in charge was I sort have given an apology an advised the wrestling team had left as well as the construction workers for the rest of the weekend so our 2nd night should be pleasant. An for the most part it was the rooms as spacious and clean. The bed was nothing special kinda of uncomfortable as were spoiled at home. But over all for the price ..the fact a daily pet fee was only $25 and they also provide coffee all day and breakfast in the morning it was tolerable. Breakfast is normal self serve bar cereal some fruit yogurt coffee teas juice waffle maker ect. Another note of warning ⚠️ they do not allow any local people that have an address with in a 30 mile radius to book a room there. They have a Large list of cities that are not allowed to stay there posted on the front desk. No idea as to why but we found that truly odd. Sorry these were our pics before we left after 2 days. We also left a cash tip for the housekeeping staff.

The late clerk wasn’t very welcoming however the rooms looked nice and beds are comfortable. The hotel may even be a 2 star based on the following however I will give it a 3 strictly based on having comfortable beds/pillows along with the convenience of Cracker Barrel in walking distance. The breakfast options at Sparks consists of bagels, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and “fresh” fruit. Not much of a choice option for those who enjoy a hearty breakfast. Our hotel rooms bathroom was filthy with hair on the toilet and in the shower along with molt on the shower curtain. It could definitely make simple changes that would result in 5 stars. I wouldn’t stay here again.

I MEAN THIS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. DO NOT STAY HERE. DO NOT STAY HERE. THIS HOTEL TRIED TO ROB ME. I drove to PA to find a place to live, 7 hours. Long story short, I came to the hotel and checked in. I checked the room and the shower area was very dingy, lots of areas of the room were not properly cleaned. I tried to be cool about it by using Clorox to wipe down unclean surfaces. Afterwards I went to rest, as I was laying on the bed my skin started to itch. I felt uncomfortable and I decided to look up reviews on the hotel. I did not look at the reviews previously because I stayed at the Wyndham at Wingate before in North Carolina and it was a decent experience. But I did not look up the one from Mechanicsburg because I was in a hurry. I saw the reviews and realize that people have experienced the same thing. So I went downstairs and tried to cancel my reservation. The Lady Elizabeth at the front desk was very rude. She told me that I could not cancel the reservation because it was too late. Then she told me to check with Expedia to cancel the reservation since I booked through them. I called Expedia and my request was denied. So I went downstairs and asked for a new room in hopes of getting a cleaner room. Elizabeth grudgingly found me a new room on the fourth floor and I asked her before I take the room can I please take a look at the room. She took me up to the room I looked around and I was like okay but I went to the bathroom and the shower was still a little bit dingy and I looked at the toilet and realized that I would like for the toilet to be cleaner so I asked her if there was any cleaning crew available and she said no. After that she said she was going to call the manager but the manager lives in Hershey and it would take her an hour to get to the hotel. So I went to my room and I just waited. She came back to my room with a strange man beside her it looks like he was a worker for a construction company, and she knocked on my door and said I called the hotel manager and she wants you to leave the premises immediately you're not welcome back on the hotel's premises. She also stated that I will be charged for one night. She did not explain why I was being kicked out but she just told me I had to leave the premises immediately. I had done absolutely nothing to deserve that I was by myself I was completely exhausted I was not having a party, smoking, or destroying the property I have no idea to this day why they kicked me out. I was completely shocked I never been kicked out of any facility in any organization or any business and my entire life. So I responded with okay. I called my family and they told me to call the police the police came I explained everything to them and they told me that they had been having problems with the hotel previously and that they were sorry about my experience. They told me they couldn't do anything about my finances because the hotel had my card information and I didn't want them to charge me, but the police officer was happy to escort me out. I went to check my bank account and realized that they charge me for 2 nights anyway. these people are very sick. I've never encountered individuals like this in my entire life this hotel needs to be condemned. The customer service was horrendous. I strongly recommend that you not stay at this hotel please do yourself a favor spend the extra money and go to someplace nicer like the Country Inn & Suites like Hotel Indigo or other places around here please do not stay at this hotel is not worth it if you don't want to spend a lot of money please stay in airbnb's sometimes you can get an Airbnb that's extremely nice and very cheap. If the hotel responds to this message and with a different story it's not true. My account of my experience with the hotel is 100% accurate and now I'm reconsidering my decision to move to the Central PA area because of the type of treatment I received. This is a poor representation of...
