We checked out today after our three night stay. I would like to start by saying the location is excellent and the facility in terms of pool deck and chairs is great and clearly new. The staff I dealt with including security were very friendly. We enjoyed the grills however three are broken and one is able to be used which made wait time long. Now where to begin about our room, unit 1222, that was rented directly from regency towers. We tried to speak to a female employee who identified herself as the rental manager this morning but she did not care to correct the problems and made us feel like we were just another deposit in her bank account. We paid about $750 for three nights and $150 of that was a cleaning fee...after the review and pictures you will probably also be wondering where this money goes as well. The best way to describe the cleanliness of the room is imagine the finest $39.99 a night hotel in your town with free HBO and that's room 1222 at Regency Towers at a much higher price.
Upon entry the door lock is so old and corroded the key has to be giggled to get it to function. In the kitchen the pantry has no shelves and old chips on the floor. The microwave is burnt and vent is broken and the kitchen sink is beyond stained and the faucet leaks constantly. While standing at the nasty sink you have a lovely view of rusty blinds.
The living room area contains a TV with busted speakers and carpet that needed to be replaced about ten years ago.
The dining room table chairs and bar stool we thought has a nice antiqued finish...turns out it's actually just layers of dirt and what looks like mold on one.
The laundry room ceiling is falling down and the doors are coming apart. The doors are missing a great deal of paint as well. The toilet lid is broken and the vent to the AC and exhaust fans are caked in dust. One bathroom absolutely has mold on the ceiling.
The bedroom mattress is beyond need of replacement and our four year old described it as being a brick. The Sheetrock is coming apart, closet has never been cleaned and carpet is coming away from the disgusting floor molding.
We had to leave the door unlocked because the lock would not work.
As we arrived the power in the bathrooms was out and the outlets had to be reset. On day two we woke up hot because the air-conditioning broke during the night. Luckily the next day we spent at the beach so the mechanics had it repaired by our return that evening. Had the weather been poor I guess we would have been stuck watching them work while we sweated. We feel nasty after being in until 1222 at Regency Towers.
This is not the type of room I expected for the money we paid. Furthermore I'm shocked that this rental manager did not see it fit to refund at least the cleaning fee since that unit has never been cleaned. After sleeping in a hot unit a free night refund would have been nice. We only had two full days at the beach for our son to play so we didn't have time to mess around trying to find another complex last minute. Can someone explain how this customer service fits into the business model for Regency Towers? Pictures have all been emailed to the facility with no reply.
Save your money and rent elsewhere. This is not the type of service and level of cleanliness I expect from a facility charging these rates. All the manager had to do was show some customer service and make it right and this could have stayed in their private email. I hope this gets spread to everyone and maybe even the Bay County Health Inspector. Did we have priceless memories and our four year old have an absolute blast..you bet we did, but from what we paid this is not the room experience...
Read moreThe worst condo we have every stayed at in all the years we have wintered and had summer vacations at PCB. It was unit number 816 called Barbee' Beach Retreat. The owners purchased this place March 2023 and did nothing to the unit before listing it for rent. The complex was built in the 70’s and it shows. Our stay was January 27 through March 2, 2024. Walking through the door of the condo we found the air condition was not working and 77 degrees inside. That repair took two weeks and we lost a lot of leisure time due to different repair companies come in and out of our unit, owners calling us to take picture and coordinating the replacement of the AC. The hall shower was leaking and water was running into the launder area and into the condo below. That took three visits from the property maintains guys to cut out sheet rock and repair the leak. Could not use the master shower because the swing in shower door would not seal and water poured out the bottom onto the bath floor. Had problems with the dishwasher, mini ventless clothes dry took hours to dry clothes, toilets leaked and ran all the time so at night we had to close the doors to keep from hearing it. No private Wi-Fi! Think 1970's building, no internet wiring. The public WiFi was intermittent and slow. I had to tighten the legs on all the breakfast chairs before we could use them. The furnishings look like they came out of a old Super 8 Hotel. The unit has three small closets and one was padlock for whatever reason not leaving enough room for our clothes and belongings. The list goes on and on. The last week of our stay I notified the owners that we were requesting an $800 adjustment of the $3,800 we paid and leaving a day early due to all the problems. This request was for all lost leisure time and inconveniences. Four days after arriving home I sent a text stating we had not heard from them with an answer on our request. At lunch time that day I received a call which include her and her husband. She immediately went into a rant of excuses and even tried to blame us. After a few minutes I realized her intentions was not to grant our request and my lunch was getting cold. I tried to interrupted her rant to tell her my lunch was getting cold and we could talk later. That’s when her husband blew a gasket and went into a profanity lased fit using every word from G!! Dam to Mother F!!!ker. I informed him I was not going to listen to his profanity and hung up. I would steer clear of this place and owners. They are lot nicer condos for less money that have really great host at PCB

Read moreMy sisters and I recently had one of the most upsetting experiences here, all thanks to the behavior of both security guards on duty that night. We had finally gathered the courage to play our late grandpa’s favorite sport—pool—as a way to honor his memory. He passed not long ago, and learning to play was something deeply meaningful to us. For a couple of nights, everything was fine. But on the third night, things took a turn. One of the security guards walked in, did not bother to even a hello..and rudely said, “Don’t play, you’re gonna scratch it” before turning and walking away. No explanation, no conversation, just a dismissive comment and gone. I was so shocked I didn’t even have time to respond. We decided to brush it off and keep playing. Later that night, before closing, the second security guard came by. We asked him what the first guy was talking about, and instead of clarifying professionally, he claimed he had been “watching us for hours” on the security cameras. First off, let me remind you that his job is to keep the place safe, not sit back and watch us like we’re his entertainment!!!! We showed him photo proof that the scratches on the pool table were already there before we even started playing. (pictures we had taken earlier because there was an obscene drawing of male genitals scratched into the surface and a large wine stain. We had taken these photos specifically to see how long it would take management to address and clean it up. - Spoiler Alert!! Even after two long week vacation they did not clean it up!!) Despite seeing the proof, this guard tried to claim the wine stain “just happened” that night, when we knew it had been there for weeks. He then continued to criticize how we hit the ball with the cue stick and claiming it could scratch the table (even though we never caused any damage). When we explained that’s simply how the game is played where we’re from, his response was, “Well, this is the USA.” That comment crossed the line into being rude and discriminatory. It was completely unnecessary and made us feel unwelcome and disrespected, not only as customers but as people. For a place we’ve visited for years and considered special, this experience left us deeply disappointed. Management should seriously reconsider who they put in customer-facing roles, because rudeness, false accusations, and racist undertones should have no place here. Until then, I cannot recommend this property to anyone! Spend your money and your vacations elsewhere. There's plenty better and cheaper places nearby!...
