I'm a Globalist member with Hyatt; I spend a lot of nights in hotel rooms (including Hyatt Houses and Hyatt Places). My wife and I started taking weekend trips a few years ago to the Lehigh Valley area from our residence in lower Manhattan and while I've always wanted to stay at the Hyatt House / Hyatt Place in Allentown, the glut of IHG properties in the area and my desire to pay down my point balance with them had me booking elsewhere. We finally were able to stay this past weekend and were really impressed by how nice this property is and how well we were treated.||The booking rate for the Hyatt House rooms were about the same as the Hyatt Place, so I booked in the House into their mid-level room offering, which is a studio suite with a sofa bed. I asked for a quiet room on a higher floor and were placed on the fifth (of six) floor, above the main entrance. The eastern-facing view was of a large field that someday may be built up; other sides face the highway or the large corporate complexes across the street (a huge Uline shipping center to the west and Air Products' global headquarters to the south).||This is a new build property with both hotel brands sharing the same building and facilities. New builds are much nicer than the older, converted properties that have been re-branded under Hyatt. The studio was well laid our with high ceilings and large picture windows. The kitchen area has a large island with seating for two and a small dorm-sized fridge and freezer that is tucked under one side. There was also a combination microwave/convection oven, a small halogen cooktop, a 5-cup drip coffee maker, and a dishwasher. There's enough cookware, dishes and glasses, cutlerty, and silverware to have meals in the room; we heated up leftovers from a previous night's dinner, supplemented with some fresh local corn. The only thing that I would have liked in the room was a slot toaster, but that's a minor quibble.||The overall decor was fresh and modern with a combination of LED lamps and fixtures. There was a large 55" LG LED TV on a swivel so it could be viewed from either the bedroom, living room, or kitchen.||The breakfast was outstanding, especially when compared to other Hyatt Houses and Places; two modern commercial toasters and decent bread options, oatmeal, yogurt and fresh fruit, and a warm buffet with a lot of options (Day One - tater tots, pancakes, pork sausage, chicken sausage, sausage casserole with cheese, onions, and peppers, veggie quiche, and scrambled eggs. Day Two - breakfast potatoes, french toast sticks, pork sausage, chicken sausage, scrambled eggs, and scrambled eggs with cheddar).||The staff were really nice to us and responded to my pre-arrival requests sent via SMS and during our stay. I have to give a special shout out for the welcome amenity that was waiting for us in our room, which was unexpected and really impressive. We will definitely...

Hotel Review: Hyatt Place – Allentown, PA

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Place in Allentown, PA during a work trip and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. This was my first time at this property, and it came highly recommended by a coworker who had previously stayed here—and it did not disappoint.

The check-in process was seamless and efficient. After flying into Philadelphia and making a stop for lunch in downtown Philly, we arrived at the hotel around 3:00 PM and were promptly given our room keys with no issues. The front desk associate was extremely welcoming and informative. She clearly explained the breakfast area, hours of operation, elevator access, and Wi-Fi instructions.

I booked a King room with a separate couch area, which was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped. The room included a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron with ironing board, full-length mirror, and an in-room safe. The 50” TV offered a wide selection of channels, and the two bedside tables came with both lamp lighting and convenient power outlets. The room temperature was pleasantly cool upon arrival, which was a relief given the high heat index that day. The bathroom was stocked with plenty of fresh towels, the shower presser was amazing and my 4th-floor room offered a great view.

As someone who works out early in the morning, I was especially impressed with the hotel gym. It was one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel of this category—modern, clean, and fully equipped with new machines and free weights. I also appreciated the thoughtful touch of complimentary disposable plug-in headphones for guests.

While I don’t usually eat breakfast, I visited the breakfast area to take a look, and it featured a generous selection of hot foods and continental options. The dining and lounge areas were clean, inviting, and nicely designed. You can tell this is a newer property that is well-maintained and managed with care. There was a wedding celebration the first day we checked in so that should also tell you how well kept this place is.

Overall, I had a fantastic stay. The service, cleanliness, and amenities exceeded my expectations. I’ll definitely be booking here again for future work trips...

I have been staying at the Hyatt since it opened several years ago and dining at the Westside Grill on every stay. I frequent this hotel and am more than just a guest, bordering on being a resident due to my frequent travel into the Lehigh Valley. As a Globalist with Hyatt I cannot say enough good about the hotel and the Westside Grill. After having dinner there again this evening and having another outstanding experience I feel compelled to write this review. The dining room management of the Westside Grill is exceptional with Eileen, the Manager, doing an exceptional job. She is a walk around manager very visible in the dining room, greeting customers, and ensuring they are having a great dining experience. This evening I had the pleasure of having Deanna as my server and she did an outstanding job as well. Both Eileen and Deanna are very attentive insuring that the customer is well taken care of and not wanting for anything. I cannot say enough GOOD about this restaurant. It is top shelf, great abidance, exceptionally clean, supported by a full service bar and an exceptional menu and wine list. The Westside Grill has been consistent in service, quality, and presentation of food since I began dining there while staying at the hotel. I strongly recommend the Westside Grill for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for an exceptional dining experience. I bring often business associates with me for morning, afternoon, and evening business discussions at the Westside Grill and have never been disappointed. Both the Westside Grill and Hyatt Hotel have a great staff that are always wanting to make your dining experience and stay exceptional and memorable. It makes you want to come back!!! Finally, 5 Stars is not enough, it should be more like 10. Both the service and the meals at the Westside Grill are consistent always providing an exceptional...

If you want to stay at a hotel where the staff members don’t document and take care of the guest, this is the place to go! If I would’ve known that, there was a DOG convention going on and a massive BABY SHOWER celebration, I most likely would’ve booked here. I got zero sleep. With the amount of dogs, barking and growling what sounded like up and down the hallway and guest from the party being drunk and obnoxious . I called in multiple times and complain and nothing was done. I continue to calling over the next two days. Being told that his supervisor wasn’t available that they were extremely short staffed It was nearly impossible to get a hold of leadership. My guess is since they were short staff, no one documented my account so leadership told me nothing could be done. I used 900 of my reward points to stay at a Motel. I say Motel because the bathrooms were disgusting. It looks like the shower hasn’t been clean and many months. There was a ton of dirt/dust built onto the fan and a sticky residue on the wall/door. I ended up speaking to the “assistant GM” that assured me the room was thoroughly clean. Basically calling me a liar. They don’t take accountability that they dropped the ball not only preparing the room for the next guest, but for taking care of them during their stay. I was told the best that they could do is refund me 4000 of my points, which is And not taking care of the guest.

We visited some family in the area during the MLK holiday weekend and as World of Hyatt members, we decided to stay here. Apparently brand new and has only been around for a year or so. I called them to say we're only going to be in a little before midnight and they reserved a nice room for us at the Explorist level. The property feels new without the new property shortcomings and the staff seemed to be professional. I personally loved how we were able to sleep so comfortably in their King bed, the pillows felt a bit uncomfortable in the beginning but we were able to sleep regardless. Room and bathroom was clean and water pressure was good. There was a small indoor pool that was packed given it's a holiday weekend so we didn't try it. The breakfast here was pretty good. A small and really simple breakfast buffet that had the basics but were pretty satisfying. In the 2 days that we got to try it, we enjoyed a bit of variety in some of the items. The staff also greeted you a pretty cheerful 'good morning', something you don't really get to see often in other places. Overall, would happily stay if we're visiting again! Thanks to the Hyatt House Allentown team!

Enjoyed my stay. The room was crisp, clean & tranquil. No carpet, which is refreshing. Layout was beautiful with a desk, couch, tv, 3 big windows & picturesque views. The bed was super comfy & the lighting was perfect. Equipped with a laundry room, gym & indoor pool. The best breakfast I've seen & I travel often. They have vegan, keto, chicken sausage, fresh fruit, pastries, fresh juice, etc. Check-in was simple & check out even easier. Not to mention a pleasant staff. It's a beautiful hotel. Convenient location for me as it is close to the Lehigh Valley Internation Airport. I look forward to staying again. Update: Stayed once again & this time for a few days & service was awful. Requested express service 3 times & couldn't get any. When they finally did show up, the housekeeping manager / supervisor was so loud & created so much drama. I had to call Hyatt client services a few times. I had just stayed at the Hyatt Delaware for a week & had thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately, this one is not up to parr.
