Comfort Inn Valentine — Hotel in Valentine

I checked in on July 10th and checked out on July 12th. The hotel seemed very welcoming and friendly when I first arrived and I stayed in room #207. I forgot my stuffed green dragon in my room when I checked out on the 12th and I immediately called the hotel after I found out he was missing. The lady seemed nice and helpful at first and she told me staff would call me if they found my dragon. I called back on the 13th and talked to Paige the manager on duty and she saw the message and she told me she would call me if they found him. I called again on the 19th to find out any information and I talked to a man and he told me nobody turned in my dragon I left my information again and asked for the manager to call me back. Nobody called me back I was devastated and I felt like the staff didn’t care or take me seriously. I called again on the 25th and I talked to Paige the manager I had spoken with before and asked if they found my dragon and she told me they never found him. I told Paige I was worried that someone took him home with them and she told me that hasn’t happened since she’s been working for the hotel. Still I never got my dragon back. I’m very disappointed in the service at this hotel and I feel like my feelings have been dismissed for the loss of my dragon. He may not have been an expensive diamond ring and was just another lost item in the eyes of the staff but my green dragon was my best friend in my eyes and I had him for over 31 years and now he’s gone. The way I was treated by the staff was unacceptable and unprofessional and I will not be returning to this hotel. I’m a former resident of the Valentine area and the next time I come back to visit I will be taking my business to another hotel with staff who will treat me with respect...

We came out to Valentine to hike around the waterfalls in the area. I was a little worried about staying at a hotel in an area that's not a major destination. Would the hotel be run down or cleaned well? I am happy to say I was pleased on both fronts.

The pride that the staff has in their town and doing their jobs well was very evident. The hotel was solid and clean. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the area. There were cookies upon check in. The staff who oversaw the breakfast area and pool/gym area were very attentive to things that need to be taken care of.

The room was clean. At other hotels, the mini-fridges didn't stay cold, but this one did a great job keeping our leftovers cold from our great meal at the Peppermill restaurant.

The bathroom was a little on the small side, but it was clean with plenty of clean towels.

The air conditioning in our room seemed to have a little trouble staying cool, but it wasn't too hot while we were in town. The wi-fi would have trouble playing videos or other large bandwidth items, but you're in Valentine where it's a good time to disconnect and explore all that the Sandhills have to offer.

A nice touch that I didn't realize when we booked the hotel is that it is located right along the Cowboy Trail. I could walk out the front door and go for a walk. For those hiking or riding along the trail, this is a great place to stop for the night.

This place has the most amazing staff there is. Everything from the time we checked in to the time we checked out went smooth and hassle free. We arrived and needed a special accomodation for one of our family members and Stevie went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed to make her comfortable. The rooms were very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The next morning the breakfast for amazing. Robert went out of his way making sure everyone had everything they needed and that the food stayed full and hot. There were plenty of options to choose from. On our second night we had issues with the people staying next to us but as soon as we called the office, Dyana had the issue resolved. The next morning she offered to move us to a different room. Cara worked hard and fast to get the room cleaned for us. Everyone was so accommodating and helpful. They called us by name and made us feel so welcomed the entire time we were there. There was a large group of us as it was for a reunion and celebration of life for my aunt and uncle. The staff let us all use the breakfast area to meet and play games and have fun while we were there. They treated us like family and were very good to us.
