I would give it a 1 star but the waitress' attitude and service helped bolster this up an extra star. I've been here before but on the bar side. This time were passing through on our way home from the holiday weekend, so we figured it would be the same. My wife had a bacon cheeseburger, no bun and I had the chicken strips(under specialities). Hers came out just fine. Mine came with a side salad or soup(should have gotten the soup), chips(I opted for fries although at 2.50 extra I don't know why) and 4 strips of chicken. At least I think it was chicken. I'm pretty sure the fryer here, learned from the fryer at The Cellar in Kearney who destroyed my waffle fries. The strips were like eating hard cardboard and the only saving grace was the giant bowl of ranch they brought out with it. Most places give you a small cup or so. Nope this came out in what I ascertain to be also used for soup. I'm guessing they know it's the only way you can soften it up enough to eat. We proceeded to pay and go outside to leave, at which point we were immediately acousted by the local vagrant hanging at the gas station for which this place shared a driveway. My wife and I ride seperates motorcycles and I had to back out first. This took the opportunity to bother my wife while I was busy getting ready to leave. He would not leave her alone until I started yelling at him and then proceeded to bother me. Finally he got the hint that I meant business and walked back slowly to his corner post to wait for his next target. I don't need this and we won't be back. I'll be leaving a similar review for the...
Read moreThe bad experience started as soon as I walked into the restaurant. None of the staff even acknowledged my presence. One of the waitresses looked at me then sat down to talk to another customer. After couple minutes she did bring a menu, when I was thinking about leaving. I ordered hot tea and the western omlet which came with toast, hasbrowns and salsa according to the menu. When the plate was brought to my table the toast was literally black. (Waitress should have refused to take burnt toast to a customer) The hasbrowns were cold and not cooked. The waitress had to go get the salsa. She never came back to check on me or offer more hot water for my tea, until she saw I was ready for my ticket. When asked at check out how everything was I told the woman if I wanted burnt toast and cold hash browns I would have stayed home. She asked if I said anything. I said the toast was black it was obvious it was burnt. She never offered a discount and I stated I would...
Read moreNot as I expected, local joint caters specifically to the locals... I had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and broccoli,Let me begin with the chicken fried steak,if that was hand breaded, it was hand breaded in a processing plant,so I guess it's considered hand breaded, it was so tough that I literally bent the knife trying to cut it. The mashed potatoes were fairly decent. The broccoli was either boiled and sat in the water forever and then tossed around on the grill to warm it up. Service, the girl was prompt upon my sitting down. However,I was never checked on before or during my meal I had to finish my meal with an empty drink glass and when she returned with my tickets, she just dropped everything on the table and huffed off.. As I said, if you're not a local, you will not matter. Sadly, this was my first visit...
