I needed a "suite" type of room, since I had another female friend staying with me and my boyfriend. The room was actually 2 rooms in size, had a full sized kitchen with stove and refrigerator, but also had a back door which opened up to the back of the building. I chose hotels based on security of inside doors and this had both. I didn't feel secure. Secondly, the bed was so hard, that I had to get up in the middle of the night and go to the couch. This unit had 2 couches, one that folded out to a bed (which my friend slept on) and one in the "dining room" of the unit. This couch didn't have feet and looked like it had been drug in from the dumpster! If I hadn't been in so much pain from the bed, I wouldn't have touched it, much less slept on it! Thirdly, The bathtub/shower looked like something from a bachelor pad. It had sliding doors on the tub edge that were filthy dirty. I chose to put clean clothes on and shower when I got home, 3 hours later. The only access to the bathroom is through the bedroom. So, if you have someone sleeping on the fold out couch, which we did, they have to come through the bedroom while we are sleeping. Seems like the room could be re-arranged to make it a more comfortable "suite". For the price that was charged, I would have expected better accommodations. I don't mind spending this kind of money, if the room is worth it. This one...
Read moreAll in all it was an excellent stay, we live less that 10 minutes from this hotel and rented the room for my daughter who was turning 11 and a cpl of her girlfriends to have a sleepover and with it being winter they would have the opportunity to swim as well. The girls had a blast, even though by the end of it all I was lacking energy and sleep, but it was about them!! The staff was excellent and though I personally think the price is a bit steep for just a room for the night it was an excellent value for the purpose we chose to use it for as the kids probably swam for 8 hrs or more in all and the local ymca charges 150 for 20 or less kids for an hr.of swim time and being it is November and a tad chilly it was a way for them to burn off some energy and get to enjoy a summer activity indoors. The staff was very nice and helpful and the hotel itself was very clean and updated, it is not aged like allot of hotels i have stayed at in the past. The breakfast was much that could be expected for a free continental but they also surprisingly have a few hot choices on there menu as well such as biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs and the like, it was displayed well and I didn't feel like it was an early bird gets the worm situation as there was an abundance of all of...
Read moreThis hotel isn’t bad but if you care about customer service, this isn’t the right place. I visit Van Wert once a week for business and I always stayed at Holiday inn. The person who books my hotels forgot to get me a room 2 weeks ago and they were booked by the time i got there. I ended up getting a room here. This place is quit and the gym equipment are better than Holiday inn (not the best but it’s enough for light workout day). I asked to book my future stays for the rest of the year here at Comfort inn but i’m going to cancel and go back to Holiday inn, front desks are friendly, greetings and trained to speak to customers. Today when i checked in I was asked for my ID, address and cell phone which i wasn’t asked last week when i came here because they had it from 2 weeks ago. I asked if they could safe my information in their system so i don’t have to provide these info every time i come here like other hotels i go to. The manger who i wasn’t talking to jumped in and spoke in aggressive manner. Tried to remind her that i’m a customer and shouldn’t be talking customers like that to keep them come back, but she did’t care and became rude. My future stays definitely will be cancelled and good luck to the owner keeping customers come back with the...
