My wife and I are from Albuquerque NM. I am originally from South Florida. We drive trucks nationwide, so we try restaurants around the country.
Mexican food is one of our favorites. However, the food at Mi Ranchito was by far the worst Mexican food we have ever had! The service was poor. The host or greeter was unfriendly as was the staff. I ordered one beef enchilada and one cheese with a side of refried beans. My wife ordered a red chili beef burrito, a beef enchilada with rice and beans. Both were served with red chili. Their salsa was weak and tasted like canned salsa. We ordered the spinach cheese dip and it was never brought to us, nor was there an apology for not bringing it out. The beef on the enchiladas looked like it came out of a can of dog food. The beans were bland and rubbery tasting. The beef burrito was ridiculous as well. Their corn tortillas taste like a soggy unsugared pastry. I wont even speak of the red chili.
In my opinion, this place is a waste of time. I hate fast food, but think I'd of been happier at Arbys across the street.
New Mexico has excellent Mexican food. Texas does as well...just a bit hotter sauces. In Fontana CA there is a place called Viva Mexico that had excellent food as well. I recommend skipping the Mexican food here and drive however many miles necassary to find a more courteous, outgoing place with delicious food.
I wouldn't give a star if I had...
Read moreBEWARE! They recycle the chips! We found trash (chewing gum & wrapper) in ours and promptly alerted staff and left!! We have ate here once before & thought we would give it another try, but never, EVER, again. Words cannot express how gross this was!!!! I can’t even imagine what else is being recycled off the plates, I don’t want to think about it. Just think twice before you eat here and at your own risk!! Our first experience was good, which is why we came back, obviously we just had no clue. They should be ASHAMED!!!! Oh & in case you were wondering, yes, the gum was chewed. I will not argue with the response from this restaurant. The proof was in the pudding or should I say the tortilla chips, quite literally. It was disgusting. Probably serving used salsa too. I’d like to hear an actual explanation of how the gum and wrapper got in there, not a response of how you never do that. Please enlighten us with a real explanation & how you plan to fix it so it never...
Read moreThis is the 2nd time we ate there. It's about a 45 min drive from our home, but totally worth the drive. The salsa with adding their hot salsa gave it a very favorable taste not hot (Salsa good even without adding the hot salsa). The chips are very good. I've been watching what I eat and normally only eat half of my meals it was so delicious I just ate it all before I knew it. Our waiter was super friendly and nice and was on it with our drinks being refilled. I'm always impressed when a waiter or waitress is on top of it. More impressive that it was a Friday night and they were busy and he kept everything flowing. I would highly recommend going even if you have to drive a...
