This hotel is barely functioning with people who are not interested in going above and beyond for customer service. We chose this hotel because we are a gold star Hilton Honors member and it was down the street from our son who was staying local for the summer. The staff don’t have the ability to think for themselves.
First off the door slide to the bathroom fell off and almost hit me in the head. Turns out it was never even screwed in. We informed the front desk people and they said they would fix it. They went in our room which was fine but they only took the fallen piece of material and left the door in disrepair. The bed sheets had blood stains on them and the fitted sheet has basically lost its elasticity, alas old sheets. I wonder if they are even fresh sheets. Bathroom had hair on the floors. Even fresh towels had hairs coming out of them.
Forget the breakfast, it ends too early. Oh and by the way, if you want fresh coffee, it helps to be an employee because they care more about offering fresh coffee to the employees than the guests.
The laundry room was sad. Only one washer was working. If you need quarters to complete loads of laundry, be prepared to offer cash. They will not offer you quarters and then charge it to your room.
We checked in on a Sunday and by Tuesday, our room wasn’t serviced. We would vacate our room during the day and the “do not disturb” wasn’t on our outside door handle. When we asked to have our room to be service at the front desk, they asked if we left the “do not disturb” door hanger. I mean, why question the guest like we are stupid. Wow!
Many workers just hang out in the lobby and chit chat. I would not stay here again. It’s a dirty hotel and there are a lot of things that need to be worked out. I loved how the employees would tout that the hotel was just renovated but the toilet seat in our bathroom looked like someone...
Read moreLet me just start this review off by saying that three reviews down from this - by far the most ridiculous post I’ve ever read. This ranting on about service and cleanliness is an absolute joke! “How do I know this?” I’ve stayed here continuous months in a row and have had nothing but a great experience. Most recently, three months straight - and I was shocked that there was indeed an untrained runt of a dog that tried nipping me in the parking lot in fact owned by this woman below. This is NOT the hotels fault, but falls solely on the owner of the dog! I will add that she almost ran me over in the parking lot when she turned a corner going 25mph next to the exit door on the side of the hotel at 9 AM!
All this talk of filth and critters roaming is beyond an exaggeration. Maybe there was a lizard or two in the hotel - YOU’RE IN FLORIDA! Bugs and reptiles own this state. I want everyone who reads this to know that her post is a tasteless attempt to diminish all the staff that work here. I’ve been coming back to this hotel for exceptionally long stays since 2023, and the reason I come back is because I’ve always had the most welcoming experience from all the staff members. And if it were me who had an untrained dog that was biting hotel staff - I would think twice about your claims of not knowing about it because I witnessed that dog nip one of the housekeepers in the hallway as she was walking with the dog to the elevator!
Home 2 in Nokomis is always clean (And if you want more service, simply ask.)
Staff is so kind!
And if you can’t enjoy time being in beautiful sunny Florida, then you’re probably one who complains about everyone and everything on the regular.
Claims - “she prefers to stay at a motel 6 instead of this place”… 😂🙄 Could you imagine how much longer and exaggerated that review would...

A young boy and his mom, sitting in the hotel hall for a moment, did not make any noise at all. Just because they were not hotel guests, they were kicked out by the reception personals.
That happened on the Sunday morning after Thanksgiving of 2023.
Later I got to know that the first person who told me to leave is the hotel reception manager Melissa Perkins. The young girl who called the police is the assistant manager Abigail Hughes. Nokomis Fire Department ENG42INE performed the task and has the case record.
On Sunday, Nov 26, 2023, my young boy and I walked into the hotel, my son sat by a table in the corner of the reception hall. I walked to the front desk and asks the receptionist.
“May I use your WiFi?” I asked politely. Receptionist: “Are you a guest here?” “No,” I replied. Receptionist: “then you can’t use the WiFi” “I understand, thank you!” then I explained to her “I live in this neighborhood, my son has an online class this morning, the WiFi in my house has a problem and is not working, the library is closed today.”
Then I walked to my son and sat down next to him. A few minutes later the receptionist came to me again and said firmly: “you are not a guest here, you have to leave!” Then she walked away.
Right after that, a young girl approached me and said:
“You need to leave in 5 minutes by 11:20am, or I will call the police”
All the time since we walked into the hotel, my son did not make a single sound, he was there with his computer. I went to the restroom. When I came out of the restroom, a few policemen stood in the hotel hall waiting for me: Ordered me to leave the hotel immediately (see the attached pictures of the police vehicle in front of the hotel)
I was shocked by...
