I went to cafe evergreen because I was feeling under the weather and cafe evergreen has great items on the menu! It was my boyfriends first time and I was excited to share the experience! We came in and where greeted and seated! Our server was extremely nice and helpful with picking things off of the menu. Shortly after we ordered we where sitting minding our own business when one of the employees by the name Jillian came up to my table and started talking negatively to me and my boyfriend. I immediately got up and asked for the manager as Jillian continued to talk negatively to my boyfriend. I asked to speak to him outside. While speaking to him my boyfriend stayed inside. While he was inside still at our table Jillian continued to talk negatively and began to get other employees involved and caused a lot of negative attention in the restaurant and other customers attention. While I was speaking to the manager she came out there causing another scene and interrupted the conversation I was having with him. My boyfriend came outside shortly after and was ready to leave because at that point he no longer wanted to be in the environment especially when the management only said he was going to speak to her later. I am in the service industry and if I ever treated a customer with that much disrespect no matter the issue between someone and I, I would keep it professional and maybe pulled my manager to the side and explained the situation. Instead we where disrespected and nothing happen to the employee after she came up to us and initiated an altercation. I would have been fired on the spot especially if I was the aggressor and talked to someone that way with such disrespect to us and the business. Extremely...
Read moreI have been coming to Cafe Evergreen with my family for years. Earlier today I had a video appointment with the VA that for once went incredibly well! They HAD no choice but to see me using my teeter inversion therapy table for service connected spinal chord decompression therapy and NOT some random Vet they would be sending away with yet another prescription in person at their office to mask yet another symptom, but I digress.
To celebrate this small success and the subsequent pain relieving epidural injections into said spine, my wife suggested I go to Cafe Evergreen for dinner and bring her home something as well because she had too much schoolwork (not everyone is on spring break) to catch up on.
To aid my medical ailments my wife has strongly encouraged an anti inflammatory diet, that is, grain and gluten free, no dairy, no nightshades or legumes, limited saturated fats and no red meats unless they are grass-fed. Basically all the good stuff.
All of the staff at Cafe Evergreen are top notch and tonight was no exception and I was so lucky to have Kelly as my server! I told her I was on a really limited menu so she recommend the Salmon Mediterranean Salad and had all of my restrictions taken out. As you can see from the pictures….I was the best meal I’d had in some time!
If you are feeling down for whatever the reason and you are within driving distance to Cafe Evergreen, do yourself a favor and go because you will leave feeling better! And as an added bonus ALL the staff are as technically proficient with the menu and kind and caring as Kelly so it does not matter whose section you are sitting in, but thank you again Kelly for this...
Read moreInitially, I must say I would have gave this place 5 stars because there is no restaurant in the area that caters to organic minded individuals like they did -- the first few times I absolutely LOVED this place! I figured contrary to the price, you are getting 100% organic, GMO free meals and the price is absolutely worth the money. The quality of the food, as well as presentation was awesome.
Then something was a little disturbing when I went in and contrary to claiming they are 100% organic, I happened to look at their single pieces of fruit they had for sale (those of you who may be familiar with organic products, on the label (near the bar code) they either have, as an example; #4011 (indicating standard yellow banana) whereas #94011 (is an organic banana) that hashtag 9 always indicates organic) I looked at the apples among other fruit and I saw the #4*
-- now im not sure if they try to deceive people or not but knowing it was a standard red apple, I asked the girl behind the counter if the apples were organic and she happily said "yes". So they're charging me almost double the price for an ordinary apple? This in fact was a red flag and in my mind for their high prices I question what else is not organic that they claim is. Because of this, I gave them a mere star. It really turned me off to them, and I rather spend my money elsewhere especially if they're pricing you up the wazoo for regular food. Unless they could counter this some how my review stands...
