We stayed at this location this past weekend as we traveled out of state for a wedding. We arrived and checked in just after midnight. The concierge at the front desk gave us the welcome bag left by the bride and groom. (only received 1 should have had 2) Walking out our room which was in the first floor left wing, the hallway smelled like sewage. As we entered the room, the smell was consistent with the hallway. As it was very late and we needed to be out of the room by 11 then following morning we went to bed immediately. Using the bathroom 1 time before bed, the room filled with the smell of sulfur for the remainder of the night. When we woke up, and showered the room again smelled like feces and sulfur. We went to eat breakfast which was fine, however when we asked the woman at the front desk if she could refill the plastic forks she said "Ill get to it in a minute" and continued reading. When we walked back to our room, the smell in the hallway was again overpowering. At this point, I asked the General Manager if he could take a look at our room. We told him the smell mostly came from the pipes after the water had been used. He turned on the water and smelled it and said, "I don't smell anything but we will look at the pipes after you check out". Not once did he try to accommodate us with a new room or location to get ready for the wedding we would be attending in just a few hours. The smell overpowered the fragrance I had to spray around the room. We checked out of the hotel at 8am 3 hours before normal check out. We went to Mountain Creek Hotel (which I would recommend ANY DAY over this stay!). I contacted Choice Hotels which is the Owners of many hotel chains and filed a complaint. I was told allow 72 hours for the General Manager to contact us. Here is what he had to say....
Dear Sarah,
Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey regarding your recent stay at our hotel. On behalf of our entire team, I would like o apologize for failing to exceed your expectations. Your satisfaction is important to us and we will be using the feedback you provided to make improvements to ensure we offer an exceptional experience to our guests in the future.
(here is where the manager actually put his own words in this pre typed letter)
Manager is came to your room and look at it water but he did not find any bed water.
........ At this point I was APPAULED with the lack of professionalism he had in responding to a complaint.
I called customer service again and told them about his response. The customer service rep called and spoke to the manager and asked if there was anything he could do for me. He offered 10%off my stay. I said no that the stay was not worth $90 for 8 hours of torture to my nose. He then offered 20% off which I reluctantly took as I had been on the phone dealing with this for over an hour.
I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO ANYONE. I understand this is an isolated incident and not all locations are like this one, but I just cant get over his lack of professionalism and would suggest staying in a REAL QUALITY hotel. Just because its in the name, doesn't...
Read moreWARNING DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE.
This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had! My fiance and I recently stayed at this location because it was a last resort and I honestly wish we had slept in the car. I had MULTIPLE belongings stolen, most importantly my jewelry. We had no idea that they did not have safes in the room, we should have known better with a dump like this. Our only option was to leave our "do not disturb" on the door while we were at a rehearsal dinner the first night and a wedding all night the second but our privacy was broken because someone let themselves into our room, went through our bags and stole cash, personal documents, and all of my jewelry. I called right away (the day after we got home when I unpacked) after realizing my things were gone and I was told to call back later..? I called back later and I was told there was nothing found - the women at the front desk didn't seem surprised or bothered by this clearly invasive and not to mention ILLEGAL matter whatsoever. In fact, I had to ask HER to take my information to please call me if something turned up. Unbelievable.
I do not understand how anyone could possibly run a business like this. I received an email apologizing about my "inconvenience" after calling multiple times for a manager and never receiving a call back, for over a week. They said that me being robbed was not their responsibility and that they have nothing else to say on this matter, they also refused my demand for a full refund. In the very LEAST I deserve a refund for this horrific experience. It's honestly disgusting, they should be ashamed of themselves.
Not only is this place unsafe to stay in, their customer service is appalling and the entire hotel smells like a garbage can. Take yourself elsewhere and stay at Minerals, Crystal Springs, or the adorable Alpine House bed and breakfast down the road- ANYWHERE but the Quality Inn. I...
Read moreHad a wedding block here so this is strictly for anybody looking to use this location as a place to stash your guests. I haven't heard any complaints about the actual state of the rooms so I won't comment on those.
There was confusion on when the rooms would be available for booking. We were told a date that it would open up and when we called on that date to make sure everything was good to go, we were told that date was the LAST day they'd hold rooms. Obviously a miscommunication but the woman speaking to my wife on the phone about this was very rude and adamant that they did nothing wrong.
Speaking of rude, one of the women at the front desk, most likely the same as above, needs some hospitality training. I don't expect roses and butterflys but I also don't expect lectures about rules that drag on monotonally for an hour and begrudgingly telling us she may or may not be able to do a simple task with the welcome/gift bags for our guests.
The welcome bags/gift bags for our guests came with simple affirmationed instructions. One bag per room for only our block. Well, the next morning when I went to pick up any leftover bags, which I knew there would be considering so many did not receive them, I was told they just handed them out willy nilly. I was told some guests got 2-3 and that they did it that way to make the guests happy with extra stuff.
We paid for those bags. That wasn't their decision to make. It was the complete opposite of what we asked them to do and even that was as simple as one bag per room. Room checks in...bag. Done. Not rocket science. I estimate half the contents of those bags, which again were expensive, to have been wasted.
Conclusion is DON'T book your wedding block here. They don't care in the slightest and are pretty...
